Not much progress in the last couple of months too much work, family etc. but the modeling Gods smiled upon me and bingo I blew out my knee at work, should get me a couple of months of modeling in. Of course barring surgery, therapy etc.
Not much in the line of photographic evidence on the barge but I'm gonna run with what I've got. Pics. show the wheelhouse on the bow or on the stern. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Still alot of work to do but building, bridge and barge can be rearranged in any combo, suggestions here would also be considered.
Setting will be pre B.O.B. Sept. to late Nov. - early Dec. ? Maybe even post B.O.B. with allied troops investing the town. I have this strange urge to destroy alot of it and have Shermis and troops perusing the carnage. Suggestions, suggestions.-Cheyenne

Cheyenne,

Looking good. I am curious as to how you intend to transition from the building to the water below, wall…? Although no expert on barges but the basic structure has the potential of being very convincing.

Sorry to hear about your knee, my little knee episode only required three surgeries and I got about eighteen months of modeling bliss, yea right. Good luck with the knee

Thanks Jay, I'll be making a huge wharf, pier area with multiple stairways down to the wharf from the bridge and beer garden. I'm kinda partial to the two curved - arched stone R.R. foam core things. I plan on giving them wooden doors for a basement under ground storage area. I'll have some of the doors opened to view storage and a comm. center with lights to see whats going on inside the basement.

It looks huge! But how big it will be exactly? It seems a very good idea! Go for it!
Cheers and happy modelling!

Wow!! That is going to be one big dio. Your work is truly inspiring. Sucks about your knee-I blew mine out in a drunken mountian biking accident, (long story) but was able to avoid surgery. Anyway, good luck with your knee, keep up the great work, and please keep us posted on the progress!!

wow cheyenne! that is amazing! I didnt know from your previous posts that it would be in a wharf, but it fits well. I would make sure to sand and give the hull of the boat alot of coats of paint so it looks shiny and smooth like metal. But wow thats great, i always enjoy your pieces, especially that barn u made. Keep it up and good luck with your knee, my dad got a new knee about 4 years ago and it works fine.

SWEET! Wow! Until I read where you mentioned an Azimut kit I was going to ask if it was 1/35th scale - apparently it will be! This will be awesome I'm sure.

Thanks everyone.
Prato, right now its sitting on a 7' pool table and I'm figuring on it being an overall 4' x 4'.
Kevin, thanks thats quite a compliment after seeing your work. Yes the trick will be finishing it, as for the water I like the way someone here on Armorama [ I believe, I'm embarrassed I can't properly credit him ] made with wax dripprd on the underside of glass or acetate to give an ice effect. This would cut down on the vast amount of water to fashion and I would only have to worry about flowing water around the barge and wharf area. So to answer your question on how I'll do the water - I have no idea.
Parks, hopefully the knee isn't that bad the Doc's talking possible arthroscopic. Would you believe it SWMBO wants to know what I'll get done around the house now that I have some time off!!!!
Ian, the barge will be covered with plastic card and rivited on the bow, stern and sides. The barn is going to Chris Edwards, a.k.a. Tango20, I screwed up the scale on the barn. Its more on a 1/32, 54mm size.
Max, Alex, Teacher, thanks again and with my time off and SWMBO duct taped to a chair I hope to make alot of progress - with updates. -Cheyenne
