For the longest time I have had this idea for a hockey (yes, yes I know it is not military) diorama but have absolutely no clue how to make it. The basic idea is to show Bobby Orr's winning goal in the Stanley Cup finals in 1972. I want this to be in 1:35 scale. I think that making the ice surface wouldn't be too hard. It's the hockey players that have me scratching my head. Any thoughts? #:-)

Welllll.....I suppose you could you the Kenner "Starting Line Up" figures and modify them to your needs, and probably superdetail them. Kenner may already make some sort of Orr Winning goal figure already, just hope it isn't a "collectiable". As far as scratch building, some Dutch Infantry on saktes could be a staring point..... :-)

Oh yea, My guess is those Kenner figs are about 1/12th scale.... so it's a little big for your needs.

Thanks PorkChop. Figures you mentioned are too large for what I had in mind. This is probably be one of those ideas that will never see the light of day.

If you find a way to do this let us know. I may do the Tie Domi/Bob Probert bout from the 92-93 season. Greatist fight ever...... ESPN brought in thier boxing anaylist for it. Though that's not why I played, or watch the game religiously, it is part of the game of hockey...

I remember having hockey player toy figures when I was a kid. Soft plastic, of course. Historex used to, and someone may still, make "academy" figures. Basically these are multipose nudes in 54mm. Of course, that would mean a lot of putty work, but al least you'd only be adding, rather than subtracting then adding detail.

If you get it figured out, let us know. I wouldn't mind one of Patrick Roy getting the puddin' kicked out of him by Mike Vernon in '96!
