Thanks Robert. Those tracks sucked!! I've built a lot of tanks with link 2 link, this was by far the worse! Rest of the tank went smooth though.

Wow! That's a very unique diorama.
The tank is too clean for my tastes , but of course, it shows its being new since the officer there is showing schematics of the tank to the tank crew.
The little cat, though, is purple....or is it just the picture? I've never heard of purple cats...
Very nice. Meeeooooww!!

Thanks Angela,
I usually like my taks beat up and muddy-this is "cleanest" tank I've ever built. As far as the cat goes-it's the pic.

Don't take this as a dig but you have to remember the Maus did not see combat as say the Tiger or Pz IV and up until the final days, was only field tested so it would not show the wear of combat like others would. I think a "clean" tank fits in this dio better than a battle damaged vehicle would. Brian I started this kit years ago and when I came to the tracks I put it directly back in the box and it stills there to this day.

Robert

Rbeebe99, admittedly, I don't really know much about the more unique vehicles. It's just that I usually see and prefer dirty, grungy AFVs.
The model presented above is a refreshing sight as it is very good. And since it shows the officer pointing out the schematics of the vehicle, plus with your explanation, I agree that it perfectly fits the scene.

Nice Maus Brian i really like the camo i have never seen a tank painted like that, I don't see how any tank as big as the Maus could be hidden camo or not the Germans were nuts for trying to make that thing from what i read most of the German bridges wouldn't even be able to support its weight. Nice work i like the cat to.

I am glad you didn't take it the wrong way Angela, it is often hard to express or explain something over the net and have the person reading it not misconstrue the meaning.

I so like the touch of "whimsy" in this presentation.
A very different AND refreshing approach. Should I
say "thinking outside the box"? Perhaps not. But
the well worded title, the arrangement of the
elements on the base and the addition of the
leeetle furry friend is delightful. Congrats on a
well executed and clever dio.

The idea is very nice. All over the scene, the cat is catching the hole attention. The camo is interesting. I don't know if it is a correct one, I haven't seen before, but it looks very good.

and there I was thinking I'd be seeing a Maus with a Panther or Tiger tank...
Very nice!
I don't recognize the figures. What company are they from?

Hey everybody,
Thanks a bunch for all the kind comments. Minus the tracks, this was a pretty good build.
To answer a few questions,
MLD-The figures are a mix of DML and Tristar.
Wampum- I'm sure the paint scheme isn't correct. Since the tank was only a prototype and never saw action, I used a little artistic "flare". I wanted to create something a little different.
Shermies Rule-I actually thought of the title and the basic dio layout before I even bought the kit. If Maus isn't pronounced "mouse" then to say the least I would be dissapointed.
Thanks again for all of the positive feedback!!
Now if those pesky Hobby Fan figures would just come in that I ordered, I can finish my pak 40 dio thats collecting dust.

Then once again, Congrats! You've used your "artists licence" very well
