hi all! heres a sneak preview of my current dio project in 1:72 scale! im on to the final stages now and your comments and criticizms will be highly appreciated. everything in this dio is scratch-built. forgive me if the pics are a bit blurred coz i didnt have my tripod with me and the conditions for a natural lighting photography is not ideal here at the moment. more detailed and better pics will follow soon. im thinking of entitling it "To the front! but...". your suggestions will be most welcome

Hi Crismag, god you are a hell of fast and good builder, what you do? build those babies 24 hrs a day? I have a tiger that I had been working on for almost 2 months now, and still nothing. Realy impressed. Good job!

Congrats Crismag!
That looks like an excellent diorama! I like especially the Me109 in the water...
Do you think you have in-progress pics for an article? It would be great to hear how you did this technically. There are too many questions to be posted...
Like the water, buildings, rubble etc.

This goes to prove that you can hve excellent results in small scale! Anxiously waiting for more detailed pictures!

Good job!

Great!!

Did you scratch build the buildings, or did you find kits somewhere? Where did you get the figures?
I've been building "Braille scale" for almost 25 years, and I still have a lot of work to do before I can work-up a good city-center diorama.

Love the buildings and the armor! Can't wait to see some close ups to enjoy the detailing and what appears to be some excellent paint work. Are you open to some constuctive criticism? I have a concern I'll share if you want, otherwise I'll keep it to myself.

Well done! When I saw the photos a thought came to me. If its not too late replace the 109 with a Typhoon or P-47. A natural target for the mobile flak gun. The allied pilot could be hanging by his chute off one of the buildings being captured by the Germans. Adds a lot of human interest.

Absolutely amazing (again) crismag. From the photos, it looks like it could be 1/35 scale! I really like it.

It sure looks good Crismag,

could you show us some detailed pics from those little people in the dio. I wonder how detailed a figure could be in that scale.

Nice dio. Love the water with the Me in it !

I don't know what your daytime job is, but you have the hands of a watchmaker or a neurosurgeon ! I thought it was a 1/35 diorama at first. Congratulations !

hi everyone thank you so much for your kind comments i guess ill be doing an article about this dio too maybe next week. ill be explaining how i did everything. yes! everything in this dio is scratchbuilt, including the buildings i hand carved the buildings using my exacto knife in styro. in building this dio, i only bought the kits which are from revell germany and academy, everything else i hand crafted to minimize the cost of production and because building ruins in this scale are non exsistent here in the philippines.

nope! i work full time as an associate art director for a computer graphic design studio. i only work on my dioramas when i get home, thats dio building from around 8pm to about 12mn i do this just for fun and to relax from the rigours of my work the whole day. dio building has been a therapy for me

anyways, ill get into the details of my work in the article. outdoor photography is impossible right now here coz of the weather. more detaild pics will be included in the article

well, i think its impossible now coz i had the plane fixed in the water. in my layout, my story is a convoy of german reinforcements are advancing to the heat of the battle but are hindered by the downed german plane which is blocking their way across the bridge. the figures at the front are discussing how they can sort the problem

"Are you open to some constuctive criticism? I have a concern I'll share if you want, otherwise I'll keep it to myself."- your criticizms are most welcome and we'll see if i can still do something about it

more to come on the article

Cris, I really do like the work you did. My concern is the plane. It looks like it fell off a flatbed. Given the angle, it would have hit the ground at several hundred miles an hour leaving nothing but shredded metal. Again, this is my opinion and it is offered with as much kindness as possible.

thanks for the comment AJLaFleche at first i was really planning to wreck the plane totaly but i was choosing if i would go for total realism which is going for the totaly wrecked version or go for the aestetic more artistic approach which is just doing crash damages at a sparingly way, and the opted for the second. anyway, next time ill try the first approach and by then ill be able to decide which way works best for me this is only my second war dio and im still experimenting, along the way im learning more from your comments which is good thanks again, i really appreciate the critisizm
