hi there,..here's my latest project the M4A3 sherman. the stuff and gears are from academy and tamiya tank accessories. i like to try the pacific theater..did the US forces over stuffed their tanks during the campaign? few or little reference photos of tanks served in the pacific war are available. maybe i'll change the question..did they use M4A3 with 105mm howie in the pacific? comments and suggestion are welcome. feel free..thanks all.

Looks good. I especially like the opened K Ration boxes. One constructive criticism, the tracks look too loose with too much sag. Sherman tracks were live track, which are usually very tight with no sag on the upper run. Stowage on rear deck looks great too.

Looking very good (as usual) although I would tie down the loose gear on the back...

The equipment looks top notch. The build looks pretty good but I prefer my rust to be more subtle on the surface areas unless there is damage.

Liberator,
Looks real good. The rust looks a bit random. Also, don't think the applique armor would be used on this version of the A3.
Other than that a great job

Nice build stainless. As already mentioned, the rust looks a bit bright for me. Could be the camera lighting. You might consider some tie downs for the stowage. I know I used to strap/tie everything down on my tank. I hated losing stuff. "Q"

Awesome lookin sherman. As I might add, the rust is a big "No, No" on shermans. Shermans were taken care of unlike alot of other tanks from different countries. The russians were known for having really beat down, rusty, looking tanks. Youll hardly ever see any stowage on the russian tanks also because the life expectancy of that tank is very short.

There are 2 things I think you could add.Add a tow cable, the guide on the left
side near the turret looks so EMPTY without one.
Also drill very small holes in the bullet splash rails , near where the fuel caps are. These were to allow water to drain out. A small streak of drined off fuel/oil from them would be a nice touch.

I just noticed that the rear applique armor plate is right next to the front applique. It should be farther back

Kevin, you sound a bit sinister there. It may just be the lighting.. I did notice that the tyres have not been painted, or should that be that they HAVE been painted, in the hull color...? Looks like an odd OD to me, but all credit for the wooden boxes, they look superb.
Cheers

In an exchange with Liberator, he/she mentioned that the applique side armor was glued with white glue only. That's good as there was no applique armor on any late hulled M4A3 gun or howitzer tanks. This is one of the greatest inaccuracies of the ven erable Tamiya kit. THEY SHOULD NOT BE USED ON THE M4A3 75MM OR 105MM HOWITZER KITS!

DOH! That's right the late M4A3 were wet stowage and I believe the M4A3(105) were dry but decided not to add applique.

"THEY SHOULD NOT BE USED ON THE M4A3 75MM OR 105MM HOWITZER KITS!" Roy, you do not need to yell. Also thanks for posting the cheek armor diagram on the other site. Out here.

thanks all,...i think i'll go for the pacific theater for my sherman..the wood panels makes an ideal scratchbuild subject. and the hardcorps model website..really is an eye opener for WWII (pacific) fans..the COED-40 is an intersting tank. so thus the flamethrower on the LVT. thanks again!
