Alright, alright. I may just be grasping at straws here. Gimme a break. But here goes:
There used to be an assumption that DML foreshadowed future releases by placing items in the background on boxtop covers. In the upcoming Tiger I "three in one" kit, the Tiger is passing a US M3 Halftrack. Whaddya'll think?
Any merit to this? Can you recall instances where a kit was foreshadowed and then released? How about instances when they weren't?
(I recall seeing a KO'd Churchill on the DML Hetzer boxtop)

It's illustrative nothing else. Hopefully, i'll be proved wrong...
Looking at DML's release schedule for this year (along with their 'secret' projects) I doubt very much if we'll see the H/Ts anytime soon....Jim

Dragon started that rumor itself as a marketing gimmick. Pretty neat trick if you ask me. If they do 10% of their boxtops everyone will be asking the exact same question you did., "Will the (fill in the blank) come out next??"

I have to agree. Whilst it has been known that background vehicles have become future releases, it has also been known fo them not to have been. Take your pick.

I heard from Ron Volstadt at AMPS 3-4 years ago that DML/Dragon DID foreshadow their upcomming releases, but that they had stopped and instead were putting things onto boxtops that they were not currently planing on issuing.
He used the Karl as an example.
But since then DML HAS released a Karl.
I know that seems contradictory..
Final answer, I don't really know. sorry.

I for one totally believe it. Santa Claus told me so and he never lies :-) We can only hope that it would pan out this way. I for one would love to see a new tool US 1/2 track. If they did a run of the US variants like they did the German 251's, Hooo Doggy! Keeping my fingers crossed. "Q"

Well, with the new Dragon styrene that is used on their latest track, the unique track of US M-3 halftracks could be done.
Also with slide mold technology advancing, the idler and sprocket are doable.
I volunteer to build one for review if they release them.
My emissary, Mr. E.Sterbunni will await news from Dragon. (++) (++)

I too heard Ron Volstad say that DML did SELECTIVLY shadow on their box tops. I heard this from him a few years ago at the MMSI show in Chicago.
I keep waiting for the SA-8 and the 2S3 they had on their covers.

Not DML but I recall BEGO's boxarts.
Don't know if it was foreshading, since they only have a few models... But this caught my attention.
The first pic is from BEGO's Kubelwagen, the second is BEGO's Luchs.
