Still 'in-progress' with this, now I have really got down to the weathering. As it's going to be in a smallish diorama in a muddy wheat field, i'm starting to get the effect I want... (more or less) Partly the problem is the Tamiya wheels and their equally nasty tracks . Normally I wouldn't be so heavy on the weathering, but...

The color is a bit brigh at the moment, but it'll b etoned down considerably with washes of oils. The vehicle itself is the Tamiya KV 2with the Mig Productions KV (Model 1939) 76 L11Turret conversion.

Next stage will be some more dry-brushing... As usual comments, criticisms or suggestions welcome....Jim

My first thought when looking at the pictures was that the KV had been parked long enough to be infested with aggressive nest-builders... like the dreaded steppes sparrows. I look forward to seeing the further progress on this Klemmi.

Looks good Jim, the only thing I would add is maybe a bit of mud and grass along the top of the track run, looks kind of bare compared to the bottom run?

Yes, it han't been touched yet. I've been trying to apply it in stages, the lower hull has been more or less done and i'm waiting for it to dry out a bit....Jim

looks good so far Jim it will look better when you get a few coats of flat on it, i think the wheat field sounds like a good idea.

The pattern of your mud does not look right. Remember, when a tracked vehicle goes through mud, there will be mud residue along the entire inside circumference of the road wheel. It looks like someone just threw mud chunks against the road wheels.

Think of a car tire as it slowly rolls through a mud puddle. The mud would be along the rubber portion, yet the hub cap would remain relatively clean. If the mud was deep enough to get to the center of the hub, then the whole road wheel would be mud covered.

Not bad but it could better, i find the rusty colour not realistic enough it's better to use real rust or use a rust colour in powder , this gives good effect, further no complains keep on going mate....
