I'm back into model making after a break of 14 years, and have decided to get an airbrush+compressor. I am interested in everyones opinion on the subject of which is best? single or double action, gravity or suction feed. I also would like to know peoples ideas on which airbrush offers the best compromise between fineness of line(which is important to me) and coverage. I only want to buy one airbrush, so
i need a jack of all trades airbrush really.
All opinions appreciated.

Look into the Aztek A4709

It's the one I use. Does about everything, easy clean-up, and no needle adjustment.

And the Campbell-Hausfeld compressor works great for me.

I think the Badger 150 is a pretty good all-around airbrush. I would stick with a double-action brush becuase I think it gives more control over paint flow, but part of that depends on what you will be building. The 150 has interchangable nozzels etc for different effects.
I may catch heat for this one, but I also like the Aztek 470XX (I forget all the serial numbers). It seems to be a good 2-action brush that is easy to use and easy to clean. BUT, it is not as durable as the Badger. Aztek (Testors) will replace the brush under their lifetime warranty, but that seems somewhat counter productive.
I own both brushes and like both, though I find cleaning the 150 is a real pain. I'm cleaning my newest Aztek differently this time (yea, I'm doing a better job, I'll admit it) and we'll see how it holds up.

I have the Aztek4709 and am very happy with it. It is very versatile, easy to use, and to clean. I've seen posts about them not holding up, but after 2 years, so far, so good with me.

I bought the brush and a mini-compressor as a combo deal that I believe Micro-mark or Model Expo was offering. If I had to do it again, I think I'd look into that Campbell-Hausfeld compressor. Mine is okay, but nothing special.

First welcome aboard, second I have both the Aztek and a paasche 'h' series connected to a compressor via a splitter alowwing both to be used either will give you good service. The aztek is easier to use though.BTW I think there was a tred about this not long ago you might want to do a site search for compressors and airbrushes.
