Hello everyone, I'm back after a little more than a year away on Baby Duty. I recently picked up a new 1/72 Revell Germany FAMO F3 18 ton half-track, #03141, at Hobbytown. It has included with it the earth anchor ala the seperate mod kit Tamiya had for their big 1/35 Beastie, but it has no instructions for assembly and mounting onto the rear end of the 'track's frame. I've figured out how to piece the assembly together, except for 1 piece on the sprue, #82. It is shaped like a block "Y", with bolts on it, and is most likely some sort of a brace, but I can't figure the thing out. Anyone have any ideas, refs or maybe some copys of the Tamiya instructions for their 1/35 FAMO and the earth anchor for it?
There's an insert in the box that says that the sprue was put in by mistake, so apparently they intend for at least one more version with the anchor unless they also are going to do the versions with the 6 and 10 ton cranes.

Hi!
I am a 1/72 modeler too, here is a site that got review for the kit.
http://www.ontheway.us/reviews/RevellAG/FAMOprev.htm
how to those extra parts were used.

I haven't buy the kit yet and I am not all that familiar with FAMO, so I can just hope those information are useful.

CMK has already put together two conversions for this kit:

Bilstein 6-ton crane: http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=CMK2002

FlaK 8.8cm: http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=CMK2003

Unfortunately, the illustrations are just box-tops, and look suspiciously like the Planet Models kits of those two vehicles. But they're cheaper than the Planet Models kits, and you get to base them on plastic, rather than trying to do those tracks in resin.
