I just got my order of Heki grass from Scenic Express. This stuff is great!! I only paid $9.00, no shipping costs, and they got it to me in three days. I can't wait to put it to good use.

BTW-Props go out to T-Bomb for helping me out on the product info.

Heki Grass is absolutely amazing stuff..It's ease of use is just supurb. You don't even have to think about it. You just decide where you want the grass, put the glue down..lay the grass, and your done..Thats it...

Cool, which type? If it's the 3mm type, does it look right? I know Noch makes an 8mm one and I'm debating which would look better.

Hey guys,
To answer some questions-
Francios-I don't have my order sheet with me now, but I think I ordered #1574-it's a dark green field grass that's about 3/8" tall. It looks great.
Slodder-I already have two projects in progress that will get the Heki treatment.
Geofroley-Once again, no order sheet-I'm pretty sure it's the 8mm. It looks like it should come up to a 1/35th scale figure's mid shin to knee.

Scenic Express sent me a catalogue with the order-they have a looooot of landscape material available. Lots of trees, grass, grass mats, shrubs, water, rocks....

Is it a mat though? What's it say on the label if there is one? Sorry for hijacking, but I'm trying to get my next order right for some Heki grass.

Images from the Scenic express catalog in my gallery.

as are images of the Hekis stuff and super trees in use.
I'm a cmplete clutz and the fig base tooj 5 min, the Wasps base took maybe 10

The scans are not great, I wasn't set to scan at the right type/resolution.
Drop me a PM if you have q's.
I love the stuff. Noch and Silflor are great too!

Pat:

I don't know that I would say the Heki grass is on a mat. It is more like a type of flimsy netting. You can just pull pieces off by hand, stretch it out to the desired size and thickness and then glue it on. When I have used it, I first put down a layer of Woodland Scenics static grass and then add the Heki on top of that. As the others have said, it really is easy to use and looks very good in 1/35 scale.

Pat:

Here some pictures of the Heki grass as it comes out of the package as well as an in progress shot of adding it to my Battle of the Bulge diorama.

Hope this helps. I ordered 1574, 1575, 1576, 1577, and 1578. Be advised, 1577 is a really dark green.

The ScenicExpress site doesnt give those numbers though. I requested the flock and turf catalog though, will it be in there?

goef buddy, your making this a bigger deal than it really is. The numbers I baught, and told parks to buy were 1574 1575 and 1576. Scenic Express DOES carry these numbers. Good luck with buying them, youll have to order from phone.
