Hello everybody!
I just found this image in the Centcom website:
It was taken in Iraq. Does anybody has more info about? Experimental? It's the only Abrams with this scheme?
Bye,
Marcelo

Very interesting why would they do that.
Do the crew get there own choice of camo. I think this new camo would work maybe. It worked for the Germans in Africa. They had some camo's like that.on some of there tanks
Thanks for the pic.

Hello All,
Just guessing on my part, but that paint job looks factory applied vice what a crew would do on its own.
Just my 2 Cents

Hmmm. Intereting. Maybe just an art work by the crew? Trying to be unique?

Doubtful it was crew applied, repainting a tank is a lot of work. Perhaps some of the pre-positioned vehicles are being given experimental desert camouflage paint schemes.

I have seen this scheme before...on a Bradley in ODS. I think this is a authorized cammo scheme, but I do not have a PM to check for it.
BTW, the green sideskirt panel in not cammo...it is a replacement

This Camo is of the 11th ACR "opfor" who is now doing a tour in Iraq. They didn't have enough time to paint all their vehicles.

Blacksmith, "Tanks" for clearing that up. Everyone is getting a turn in the "Box", even the former Krasnovians. Good deal. Out here.

Yeah, i's very nice!
I don't know if I'm going too far, but the sand looks like darker....
I'd like to see more angles of this camo. I'll stay tunned at the Centcom website
Bye,
Marcelo

I agree with Andreas, looks factory applied. Either way, factory or crew, very unique camo.

I have seen pics on Fox News of Humvees with a 2-tone sand scheme in Iraq as well.
Also, there is a Humvee overhall factory in ME (stateside) that takes older, battle damaged Humvees, and rebuilds them to new standards, and sends them back to Iraq and Afghanistan.
The show I was watching showed newly painted Humvees painted in a 2-tone sand scheme similar to this M1A1 Abrams.
I agree, a very interesting scheme for a US vehicle.
Thanks for posting the pic
Cheers !!
