I am doing a DAK Dio, and would like to include a Well as part of it. I have looked all over and can not find any images of Wells circa WW2.

Anyone able to help me out with a pic or two?

Thanks for the image, actually I should have been more specific.

I am looking for a well out in the desert, something that a bedouin might use.

I would expect it to be basically a hole with some rocks around it, but how big would it be? would there be a bucket and rope just sitting there?

The dio will depicta DAK encampment being built at the site of an existing well

Saw a cool dio, somewhat recently, and they had a DAK scene and well. The person had researched it as well and showed it with stones and a barrell as the walls of the visible well. They also had some very rusty sheets of corugated tin covering it, held down by a stone, probably to keep it clean and from blowing sand.
Havent a clue if it was completely accurate but the viewer definately knew it was a well which was important. Cant remember now where I saw it unfortunately .
Good luck with it though!

Yes, that would be to keep anything from getting into the well, but also from the water evaporating out of the well..
The pictures I have seen of such wells, inevitably seem to have a stone round wall, and some sort of bucket with a means of getting it down and back up.

Cheers
Henk
