Hi all,
I'm still gathering info about the LVTP7A1 in order to buld one for the Amphibious campaign.
I've got an old plan from a modeling magazine which lacks details in some areas i.e. the crew stations. Could anyone send some pics or point me to good galleries.
I googled a lot but found very few pics of the inside. Even the Marine Corps Amtracks site shows little.
I'm mainly concerned with the driver and TC stations and the full cupola interior as well.
TIA to those who might help.

Olivier, I think you're in luck - I just took these photos this last Saturday. Sorry no cupola interior shots though.

Olivier,
You should get in touch with Jim Carswell on the Missing-lynx.com website. He has already built an interior for a 1/35th Amtrack. Here is the thread to his posting.

Steve
Thanks a lot for this pics. I knew posting there was THE thing to do One question : is the dashboard the same on the LVTP7 ? this one appears really "new age" style to me with the digital screen, I expected a more conventional one.
Brian
I already got in touch with Jim. Thanks anyway. He built a very inspiring interior.
Another more question, at the time the LVTP7 was fielded what was the inside color (walls and floor) ?
TIA

Hello Olivier
I've just noticed that one of the TM drawings I've sent you yesterday shows the LVTP7 "old style" dashboard. Even if the picture is not that great, I hope you have received it ....
According to the webpage where I've had found it ( AFV Interiors) the LVTP7A1 had the new revised dashboard that is also the one of the AAV.

Thanks Frenchy
I got your mail.
I'm going to gather a good amount of data and will be soon able to start building? Just have to wait the start date of the Amphib campaign now.

Great pictures, Steve, looks like I still have to add a few things beside the driver/commander seats. Any chance you have a photo of the firewall to the right of the driver/commander? I know there's at least 1 access panel, and the lever for operating the rear ramp, but no clear photos of the area.
Was that an up-armoured vehicle? I'm looking for photos of the upper hull armour, too - over the large hatches and such.
Cheers,
Jim

Jim, great interior set you have there.
I really wish Tamiya upgraded their kit....
anyway.........
No sorry - those are the only ones I had from that view.
This is the exact one from the outside (lots of paint touch-ups I think):

Steve "Tanks' for posting those photos. Were you down at Court House Bay? Oliver, the interior has been Sea Foam Green. The boys at 3rd AAV Bn use a spray can of hardware store "Pistachio" for interior touch up. I had to see it to believe it. Deck plates and inside ramp forest green/med green non skid. Out here.

Thanks you all for those input. I'll try to build a good accurate interior now. The pressure is on my shoulders after the one Junglejim did

This is one of those projects that I want to eventually get to. Thanks to all for the references, I'd like to try my hand at scratching an interior vice buying the Verlinden set if/when it comes out.
