Well despite the innaccuracies of this Italeri kit. I still did it OOB.
The tracks are stiff as can be as per Italeri tradition. I didn't even bother to heat bond them. The figure is from Tamiyas halftrack.

It was used for smoke........the M32 couldn't really fight but when it had to recover a tank in the middle of a battle it was a good thing to fire some smoke.

Add some mud,and you are there.Too make the stiff track look better,put it on a diorama base,with the groundwork against the track,
