Hey Guy's,
Here are a few quick snaps of my M4A1 76 W 2AD during OP Cobra in Normandy 1944. Its basicly the Italeri M4a1 kit with the following additions. CMD early T23 turret with Formations 76mm barrel. Aber Photo Etch and Academy early VVSS suspension and Formations Ideler as well as Tamiya T48 tracks. Tarps and AIr ID panels are made from rolled ot Aves Apoxie Sculpt. Your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Bryan

Looks sweet Bryan! May I offer two suggestions?

1) the Italeri M4A1 transmission has an annoying seam where it meets the bolt strip. On yours, the seam doesn't seem to be filled. Maybe the photo doesn't show your work already?

2) I noticed that you added the bolts to the skid plate above the VVS units. Note that there should be another visible bolt on the top of the return roller arm, just outside were the skid's two bolts are:

See that the return roller arm is actually attached to the VVS unit by four bolts and not just the two that are shared with the skid.

That's a beautifully built Sherman, ex royal. I can't wait to see it painted.

How did you make those tarps? The only ones I'm capable of making of are the ones in rolled tissue.

The only comment I have is that the tarps are covering the engine grille detail. There are a lot of nooks, bolts, handles, etc. there that is worth detailing and showing...but they are now hidden under the tarps. Also, the engine's gotta breathe so it would be okay if you could let a little of the grille peek out.

Oh, how I wish I was in the US so I could get all those AM Parts. WWWAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Dang, Bryan! That looks great. (I guess I'll take my pitiful Op Cobra M4A1 and stick it back in the box for a while ... at least until the hubub over this model settles down ...)

Angela: Bryan's not covering much -- there are no grates on the rear deck of the M4A1 or the M4. His engine is breathing just fine.

Really? Me and my big mouth. I was thinking of the M4A3 with the grille on the engine deck.

How embarassing. Guess I better run away.

Hi Guy's,
Thanks alof for all your kind comments..Its really and truly appreciated.
Roy,
Thanks for the heads up I agree about the seam on the FD..I am not sure which bolts your reffering to though. I have the four bolt holes added to the opposite side of the arm.Do you mean the bolt on the bottom of the plate?

Angela,
Like Bob Stated the Air ID panels arent covering anything important. the Vent is under the armoured door (dark green piece) at the top of the rear deck. IF you need help getting aftermarket parts just pm me I can give you several emails etc of companies that will sell dircet to you in the Phillipines

Alan,
I dont think im going to add a cullin device to this one..but you never know.
Cheers,
Bryan

Bryan,
First off, great job on the build! The kit looks great!

As for the bogie issue, look carefully at the track skid picture that Roy provided. You'll see the four bolt heads that you added to you kit bogies. If you look at the outside edge of the track skid near the return roller arm, you'll see another bolt head attached directly to the bogie. This bolt head along with a another one opposite of it are what Roy is speaking of. So, you need six bolt heads on top of each bogie unit. Roy's picture caused me to take care of the same thing on the Sherman I'm building. I hope this clears things up a bit.

I can't tell from your photos, but do you have the tubes on the front headlight guards for the electrical plug holer?
These were a tube,on the horizontal leg of the headlight guard, where the cover for an unused headlight socket would go .When the headlight was stored inside.Alos,On the back, the 2 "ears" for the towing shackles, below the aircleaners, should have a largeish hole drilled through them, for a bolt to hold the towing clevis on.Ditto on the front tow points.
I like the strips along the side for the sandshields.
