With newer better pictures.

Those are real branches, twigs actually

Real granite rocks

Can you see those foot prints in the snow?

The second set of pics are still a bit blurry but much better than the first. Are you using a digital camera? If yes, you should enable the macro settings (flower). It will allow you to take close shots without much blurring.

Regarding your dio, that's pretty cool. White uniforms are quite difficult to shade and highlight but you did it quite well. A little more dark wash (use oils) will make the shadows stand out.

I like the touch of dirt on the knees. Often, we forget little details like this. But that touch of green moss should be brown. We don't have snow in the Philippines but I think that in winter, there is no green moss.

The real "minute" concern is the groundwork....which can easily be fixed. From what I can see, it's like dried spackle just spread around.

Try this one: mix up some strong diluted white glue...aroudn 60% white glue and 40% water. Spread it around the base. Then sprinkle the base with baking soda. Let it dry for a while, then spray with hairspray. That should do the trick.

Overall, it's a very nice little dio. I like the addition of details such as the Ration boxes and the twigs.

That's a nice composition, quite dynamic, but it seems to me that you have left a fair bit of flash on the figures...

Are those seams down the trousers and sleeves supposed to be there? I'm not too 'up' on German winter suits, but there definitely seem to be little bits at the elbows that could do with a filing.
I just don't know anymore!!!!

I am not sure about those line on the trousers too but being in the army, my uniform are well press and iron even my battle dress uniform cos i was a platoon sergeant and a drill instructor so i was like "should i leave the lines or file?"

Ciao eerie,
Nice dio! Really good job with the figures positioned in such a dynamic pose.
Dogload has a point. The lines (flash) should be removed. They would definitely not have seems in those clothes. You should file the seams off the arms and legs. Angela also makes a good point - The grass stains on the pants might be more convincing as dirt stains. I do like the groundwork. The box is a nice touch. I wouldn't have thought of that, and it's a nice touch of realism.
By the way, if you want, you can paint an arm band on each of the soldiers arms. Colored arm bands were used in Russia because both sides used white camo uniforms, and they had difficulties in distinguishing friend from foe. Just an interesting touch to give your figures.
Overall, great job! Keep up the good work.
Ciao for now

A very fine set of german soldiers! very well paited ! There could be some more mud in the boots, in my opinion! And I have a question: Why the german boxes lying around? Appart from these two comments I love the figures! They have a lot of movement in the composition!
Cheers and happy modeling!

Hi eerie,

Flash are little extra plastic that form a line where the two halves of the mold meet together.

For example, check the figure who is throwing a grenade. Can you see the line that runs down the sleeve of his coat? And the line that runs down the entire center lenth of the pants? Those are flash.

It should be removed by either filing or shaving.
