Still adding more detail to the dio. The trailer being displayed is just temporary. I'm using using another vehicle which I have not built yet but i think the trailer fits pretty well.

As you can see on the vehicle I've added more details to it. Hope you like it.

My first impression: WOW!
My second impression: even WOW-er!!
My third impression: absolutely WOW!!!

:-) :-) :-)

Charles, you've got a very beautifull diorama there on your hands!
I like the fact that you are using a backdrop very much. I saw that many times with railroad and car dio's, but almost never at military dio's. It gives a very good impression of deepness and comes out just great!
I also think the trailer is perfect in this dio, so I'm lookin forward for the vehicle you eventually want to place as that must be even bether!!!!
Great realism in the roadsigns and the wanted poster and the asfalt of the dusted road.
It's also refreshing to see a burned out US vehicle once instead of an Iraqi one.
Don't get me wrong but it adds some realism to the diorama and it makes the scene don't look like a propoganda picture!!
Nothing political, though, just for realism I say this (and I still want to be able to fly to the USA without my plane landing on a different airfield :-) :-) :-) )

I'm looking forward on the further progress of this dio!

Thanks Paul. It's good to know I'm on the right track.

Thanks for the comment. As mentioned, I'm still adding things to it for upcoming competition. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My first one.

Nicely layed out. I would like to see a bit more dust overall. Maybe some dirt and grime on the trailer from the last thing it hauled.
The bushes should get singed a bit too. That HMMV on fire would have done a number on them.

Thanks Scott, but if you read my post again you will see that I mentioned that the rig is just there temporary as I have other plans for it. And if you read again you see that I mentione the dio was not complete.

On the other hand the idea about the small bushes being tinted due to the fire, is a good tip, Thanks.

Very impressive dio! Awesome work with the ground! Beautiful work with the truck (well, it could use a bit more dirt and dust, in my modest opinion)! Awesome work with the burnt and exploded Hummer! Incredible! Congratulations!
Cheers and happy modelling!

Thanks for your comments. Again, You did not read my post as I explained to Scott, the rig is not part of the dio. It belongs somewhere else an is not complete. I'm still doing work on it.

To everyone who mentions the same comment, I repeat, the dio is not complete and the truck does not belong on the dio. It is temporary.

Hope you all read this now

ti - I just fell in the trap of forgetting whats in the post when looking at the images. So, you're right about the trailer - leave it alone.
As far as not being done. That's fine, no problem, I'm just offering suggestions.

Thanks eric. appreciate your comments. Scott, it's alright. I like your advive, I just wanted to make things straight, that's all. As you did not read my entire post in the beginning I just wanted to make clear i had already mentioned it. Thanks for your advice. I'll use it.

BTW, I've changed the name of the dioto "On the the move" instead of "Freedom Reign". It will match the subject matter a little better.

Charles,

"long time no see", but I see you are still into some excellent modeling !!

Nice work ! I specially love the road signs and the wanted boards. They really blend into the scene.

Keep us posted !

Charles,
I am interrested in the posters. How did you do them and can you send me the file? I have some files of printable stuff I can swap them for as well.

By the way, the 5-ton tractor looks great. I like the added storage box on top. One thing though. On the right side, where you have the kit storage box, should be another fuel tank. The tractor version has a fuel tank on both sides, just like a commercial tractor-trailer does. The kit storage box should be turned on its side, and moved to where you have the square storage box next to the spare tire. Not sure about the trailer though, never seen one like that. I understand that the truck at least will be replaced, what are you putting in its place?

Great stuff as usual Charles. Love the dio work as well. And as normal ... donŽt have a clue what it is :-) :-)
Only recommendations I can give, is to lose the plastic sandbags. They are floating and all are unrealistically the same. If you click on members, then look for member "roadkill", check out his homepage. He has an excellent method for making sandbags from milliput. I used them on the Stuart shown below. Much more realistic. Let me know if you cant get milliput .. up there in the sticks! :-)

Thanks guys. Gino, The posters are pics taken off the internet and reduced in photoshop to the size i wanted. One thing to remember is that you have to print them out within photoshop and not as a stand alone pic within windows otherwise it wil not print correctly. I have several that my girlfriend as reduced in photoshop for me.(Thanks malin).

Gino, is there any particular one or group that you want? Also I'm replacing the truck with something else, maybe another hummer or guntruck. Still havn't decided yet. I'm just building away.
Thanks for the advice abou the extra tank but I don't think think and extra tank came with the Italeri M-925 kit. This version is a conversion unit.

Frank, nice to hear from you. Hope all is well.
About the sand bag, I know it doesn't look that good but I was trying to find a better alternative and couldn't. Now i see yours look awesome. Thanks for the advice. I will definately check out Roadkill's alternative out. I know him so i know the work he is capable of.
The only porblem is i can't get milliput around here. any suggestions? BTW, how did you weather yours? It looks so real. Fantastic.

regards to the wife.

Hi Charles.
PM me with your postal address, and IŽll send you some milliput. Send your phone number as well and IŽll give you a ring and explain what I done, some evening .... easier than writing it all down again

You are correct, The M925 kit doesn't come with the right side fuel tank. I coppied the left side tank for mine, cut the filler cap off and relocated it to make it a right side tank. Again, accuracy. Sometimes it takes some extra work to get them correct.

Not sure what you are asking me to point out. If you are asking for the location of the right side fuel tank, it goes right where the storage box is on the right frame rail. Here is my 5-ton tractor to compare it to.

Does that answer your question?
