I'm sure many people have gotten this kit but well this is the first time I've ventured to try a model this large. Local hobby shop Mine got Me a great deal on the 1/16th Tiger 1 E full option tank I’ve had it for bout 3 days now and I'm still looking over the directions and gathering up a few things I want to add to it. My questions are these.

1. Anyone who's built this kit (full option) did you run into any problems be it with the kit or the electrical stuff.

2. Did you add any PE to the kit if so what did you add and how did you go about dealing with it due to its larger scale?

3. Did you apply Zimmerit? if so what did you use.

4. Does anyone know where I can find metal tracks for this kit and a barrel to replace the kit barrel?

Ok well I guess that’s enough for now I’ll try and post photos of the beast if anyone wants Me too.

Thanks for the help guys/gals

Lord Rattler!

Long time!

I never done this kit.

Aber has very nice sets for them

The early Tiger has no zimmer.

and there is a company making metal tracks for it, I can't remember the name though.

Chris,
I have the Sherman full option kit and I got the metal barel replacement from brassbarrels.com , Im pretty sure they got a barrel made for the Tiger kit too. And the metal tracks I believe I have seen some being sold on ebay.

Hi there Chris,

I too have just purchased a Tiger, though I've got the Tiger II. You're lucky there is way more stuff for the Tiger 1 than the Tiger 2. I found the following build forum while researching,

http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6246

They cover everything you've mentioned and then some (almost 80 pages of build info). From applying Zimmerit and PE to painting and weathering.

Here's a list 'o links for aftermarket parts and suppliers.
