Hi All

I am toying with the idea of doing a small scale IDF M1 Sherman this weekend, I really need to sit down and build a model for a change.

As this version is basically a late hulled M4A1 with the Early T23 76mm turret on it I am thinking of using the Italeri M4A1 kit with the Revell T23 turret to produce a model in 1/72nd scale.

I have read in the past on the web some place that the Esci/Italeri M4A1 hull is short, and that the Revell Turret has problems as well. I have tried to find out the correct sizes for these parts but so far have failed. I am now toying with the idea of scaling down the sizes from a Italeri M4A1 in 1/35th scale. Can anyone point me in the direction of any suitable articles or websites that may contain the real sizes to check the kit parts against.

I did try a Google search but found nothing.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers

Ian

Here is an article from the site On The Way, that details some IDF Sherman conversions: http://www.ontheway.us/articles/shermanstory3.htm.

Hi Ian

Not too Bad, you may have heard that I have started my own model supply company called Friendship Models, www.friendshipmodels.com

I have spent the day correcting the shape on both the Italeri and Revell M4A1 kits, I had forgot how much I enjoy sanding plastic and filler. greta fun. I not not really worked on a small scale kit for ages and any that I have worked on have either been for articles or part masters for a company. So I have enjoyed building something for my self.

What are you upto these days.

Cheers

Ian
