well guys, sorry for no pics, but i can give you a detailed description.
my dio is a massive one, it is 72 cm long and 65 cm wide.
It consists all of tamiya, us m20 armoured utlity car, us m4 sherman, german 75mm anti tank gun, german assault troops, us infantry, us combat troops, german barricade and barbed wire set.
i have the shermi and m20 stoped on a road outside an old farmhouse, the farmhouse is all intack execpt for a liitle hole on the corner which was caused from previouse combat, where i will have the AT gun poking out of, inside the house there will be the AT gun and crew, one rifle german ready to fire on us troops coming in through the door, and one mg german with gun pointing out of window, outside i have a camoflaged sandbag mg nest with two mg crew inside hiding from the us troops on the road, behing the house i have one german commander one german rifleman, and one german carrying ammo. i have a well, a small storage shed, a veranda, lots of trees, a padock fenced with a hedge and agate, the house is fenced with a white picket fence also with a gate. on the other side of the road is a small rocky stream that comes out forn underground from a drain, i have 1 us troop next to stream, one troop with bonoculars scanning for activity on the horizon, two us troops and commander peeping into the house ( only just realizing its occupied) then i have 2 troops just aboutto barge through the front door, then i have 2 other us troops climbing the hedge and running across padock, and one last troop between the tank and m20
inside the m20 i have a crew member on the 50 cal, crew member in drivers seat. on the shermi, i have the commander poking out of his hatch having a drink from his canteen.
the theme of this dio is that a us recon team surprsingly consisting of a tank have decied to stop by and stay the night at an old farm house. being to lazy they decide not to probe it before parking outside, however it is only when they do park outside things are a liitle to dark inside the house that one of the soldiers realizes he can see a barrol from the AT gun and silently begins to warn his troops without alerting his soldiers, however not all soldiers have heard his whispers of warning. the germans are all at their feet just waiting to fire on them but have not been given the order.
i call this......................."Unexpected visitor".
thnx for reading

Sounds like its going to be fun working on it. Just make sure to plan a lot because a big diorama can easily lack details, its the little things that count in these situations.

I am not too familar with anti-tank tactics but would the German's have waited for the US troops to approach that close without firing? Is there another way to suggest why they have not fired? Something gone wrong with the anti-tank gun? Some other element approaching from a different angle? How will the viewer be able to see the anti-tank gun inside the house? Not critizing, just spitballing a few ideas.

hehehehehehe, i was waiting for someone to say this.... i have my anti tank poking out of the corner of the house, pointing in the oppsoit direction to the tanks, the object of the story is that the germans were set up to ambush any us armour that came from the west, however the shermi and m20 came from the east, and becuase the AT gun was isndie the house and all camoflaged, they could not move it to fire upon the sherman so they decided to wait until they went past then they would fire upon them when in sight, however the germans wernt planning on the troops to stop at ther house, so it was only until then that they began to act and thats why no germans have fired upon the americans.
if your still confused dont worry, when you see my dio it will all make sense

Matt, I just thought of a question.
How big is the hole the AT is pointing out? How did the AT get into the building?

slodder the AT barrol tip is only just poking out of the wall, the hole is about the size of a front of a sherman trust me the americans would not have seen it becuase i have the AT camoflaged with rubble, for example i have a couple of bricks sitting on top, dust all over it, some peices of wood, so the barrol just looks like a peice of rubble. the germans got the AT gun through the ruined partof the house which is big enuf to fit in.
thnx for replys

So the rest of the house has some damage which would mean some or most of the roof is missing? This way the viewer can see both sides of the situation? I like it!
