The last time I used my matt clear coat it dried with a white film , its Vallejo brand and worked great (same bottle) up to now. Is this stuff gettting old, not stirred enough, put on to thick? I've also tried other brands and they seem to leave a white haze.
Any Ideas?

I used to have the same problem. After reading James Blackwell's article on 'Painting Panzers', I now use thinned Gunze-Sangyo H-20 Flat Clear with a drop or two of Tamiya X-21 Flat Base. It gives a dul coat.

Bruce,I've had the same problem in the past. The only thing that I found I was doing wrong was putting it on to heavy.I just use very light coats now.Seems to have fixed the "white powder" effect.
I use Humbrol Matt Cote in the glass jar not the tin.The tin stuff seemed to give anything white a yellowish tint.
Anyway I hope this helps some.

Hi Bruce,
I use the Krylon Matt finish and it works fine with me. No more mixing...just shaking :-) because it comes in spray cans. You could probably buy it in any art store or hardware near you.
Cheers
