Hey.
Due to some kind of lethargy, I have largely ignored my M16 (also I was playing with other toys...)
I have over the course of a week or so been converting a dragon US tanker into the bloke from the photo I'm basing my M16 on:
Also added telephone bloke to the rear compartment and tarpaulin on the armoured windscreen flap.
Unless I seriously get my finger out, I doubt very much whether I'll get the diorama done in time, but you nver know.

One week left and not finished!!!

I feel your pain... I have run into the same problem, and know for a fact that I will not be finished in time (again). Finals are coming up, tw papers are due in the next two and four weeks so I can not afford to spend too much time modelling, unfortunately... especially since I'll have to keep my grades up if I want to be able to do my Masters-degreewhere I wish to do it.... and indeed leave for U of Hawaii next spring.
I'll be done by mid-June though with my exams. Now back to my books

This "pain" seems to be a universal one. I'm dealing with a similar "pain" as my Ardennes diorama will go unfinished and even struggling with completing my M8. Tried to do too much and will settle for the M8 on a small base, and then finsh diorama later. Trying to run a Baseball League and coach two teams has eaten up most available time. Can't and don't want to back away from the commitment I made to our youth sports program so modeling has taken a back seat. Games rained out have given some time, but I'll just have to do the best I can with what is left. Hope to have more time for "Tank Destroyers" and "Spahwagen" Campaigns.

Thanks for the support/ sympathy guys
I tried to find a hat for the overcoat bloke, but it would appear that the guy's head is too fat for Dragon's helmets in the tank crew set.... doh!
Might end up making him a nice woolly hat!

Well, you could always just submit that halftrack. I assume it is already finished?
The Ardennes Offensive campaign did not say anything that it should be a dio, right?

What Angela said is correct; it don't have to be a dio for as far the rules go. A quick look in the rules:
Rule 1: Build any figure, vehicle or aircraft that participated in the Battle of the Bulge...
Rule 3: Dioramas are also accepted...
So if the dio won't finnish in time, just show us your beautifull halftrack!!!
I'm working very hard on the last bits of my little Ardennes dio; just 1 figure to go and some repare on the vehicle as something broke of during drybrushing.
Also need to finninh my DDD entry in the same time.
A well, there's nothing on TV those days... :-)

I know- I just rather fancied getting a dio made of the photo from which I took this particular vehicle. I have a bunch of picture frames lying there for the sole purpose of diorama building (certainly not for the pictures that were in them! )... it'd be nice to actually get one done!
Actually though, I can't do a straight copy of the photo anyway coz the overcoat guy doesn't fit in the back of the halftrack... DOH!

Yes I know the feeling guys. Time is always such a premium any more. I have finished my Sherman and have whitewashed it. I am almost finished the groundwork for the little base it will sit on. Once I get a feel for how much if any mud I will have I will probably mud the Sherman up a little. But the way things have went I will not be finishing for Canuck steel and will have to drop out.
