Hey Guy's,
Here are a few quick snaps of a dio im working on at the moment. Its still pretty early days yet but I think you'll get the idea. The Sherman is a big project in itself as well as the Marder IIIM from Tamiya. The bridge is made from 1/4" MDF and coated in dental plaster, its still not done as I have to carve in some Stone detail etc. I have a bunch of figs im just about to start work on so that will take some time in itself. I havent made a "DIO" in years so this is proving to be quite a project. Who knows I might get hooked on dio's :-) :-) Your comments are welcome as always.
Cheers,
Bryan

Nice start Bryan! The only thing I dont like so far is that the road and bridge are parallel to the edge of the dio. Just food for thought!
Keep the pics coming!

Very nice. I love the elevation. The bridge looks really promising. Great frame too.
One thing that stands out to me at this point is 'why is the Marder where it is?' and 'how did it get there?'
If it was dissabled and pushed it would be more 'nose down'. Put it in neutral and get it off the road....
If it was driven there because of some type of breakdown, then I would like to see more 'roughed' up slope. That is a very steep slope and a driven Marder would slide some as it was driven to its final resting place.
I know its early in the process - just thinking 'out loud'.
I like what I see so far.

This is an excellent start bro. Id like to see that zeltbahn you got on the hull of the marder up close, just to see the camo :-) the marder looks really good, is that a hole in the back right where the german cross is? Slodder, it looks to me as if the tank got flanked while it was defending the bridge somehow. As you can see the hole(if it is one) in the rear of the tank. Well keep up the awesome work, i want to see some more of this, ALOT more of this. So keep us posted please!

That looks to me like the exhaust, not a hole. Although technically speaking, an exhaust is a hole.. .
Looks promising, but I also wondered why the marder was where it was, considering it has a full load of ammo....
But you probably have the whole story worked out in your head already, and just decided to let us sweat a bit.. :-) :-)
Nice job on the Marder at any rate..
Cheers

sacrilege how could you do something like that to a Marder. Oh well, it really does look good, are you planning on using the Heki for this project?

A great start Bryan. I agree with the others above about the "story" behind the location of the Marder. Looking forward to more progress shots.

Bryan, that is a wicked looking marder you have there Excellent job on it!!! The sherman is appearing to have quite a bit of work done on it and I look forward to seeing it finished. As Slodder said, I also love the elevation you have here. You have a solid base, great vehicles and I can see the scene develop in my mind. Its going to be pretty cool. Will you be using some heki for this? Looking forward to seeing the next installment. Cheers Kevin

Hey Guy's,
Thanks for all the kind words. The story behind the Marder is pretty simple really. Once the figures are in place you will see what happend I will leave it up to your imagination for now, LOL. Sticky I tried to put this on an angle and it just didnt look right. I found that with the height etc it actually looked better at a 90 degree angle. I agree with you thought that normally I would have offset it a bit. I do plan to use Heki grass on this one and im looking forward to trying out Thanks again guys.
Cheers,
Bryan

Bryan,
Is that a new Marder III?! Or is this your older one - the paint looks different somehow.

Hey Alex,
It's the one I saved from my cat. I dont think it ever had another paint job though..then again I dont remember I built this probably 2 years ago now.
Cheers,
Bryan

Lookin great so far Bryan! I'm doing something similar, I have a broken down jagpanther sitting down a slope, and a Firefly drivng by...Scott, thanks for pointing out wether or not the vehicle slid down the hill, luckily I haven't done groundwork yet, so I'll keep that observation in mind!
I wouldn't worry about the bridge being paraell to the base, most of mine are that way...helps save shelf space in a way...can't wait to see the end result!
