I've heard of people having "creature comforts" in the field, but this is going a little far I think. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was from the Van Doos.

The unpainted steel appliqué armor on the sides is interesting. So, who is going to model this rascal?

Its the new M113A3 Armored Moving Van from U-Haul. Provides the best protection for your belongings. When your move includes IEDs, snipers and all that mother nature can throw at you, go with the best - U-Haul.

Didn't see any running shoes so it couldn't be from the Royals.

If you keep getting a red x just copy and paste the URL into your browser. It "should" work, but maybe not on the first try...

Does anyone know if M-113's in Iraq are using the steel armor overlays??? I have an Academy M-113 that's about to the right stage to add the steel. Would make for an interesting conversion.

Yes, check out Frenchy's original photo, it has the steel plate armor added. Looks like the crew or mechanics who added it used the existing armor attachment points on the A3 hull and bolted the plates on that way.

Frank, you can have a look to the photo album the picture comes from. You'll find other pics of modified M113s :

I think these guys did my last move…… :-) :-) :-)

What I find rather intriguing is that the front part of the appliqué armour is rusted, as is the barbed (razor) wire, whereas the rear part of the armour is virtually rust free, and so is the barbed (razor) wire.
Weather a model like this and it looks ‘unrealistic’.
