I have foiund that the poly scale to be great and teh testors caryl are also good. Tamiya sucks for brush painting. What I need to know is there a line which makes german field gray? Any other suggetsions for acrylics, Vallejo?where do I get these?

I agree with Polly Scale, a hold over from the PollyS days. Dang, they were excellent. ModelMaster seesm okay to me. I agree also on Tamiya, though their first formula had been excellent, lacking only in FS and other standard numbers.

I've got quite a few bottles of Andrea acryllic paint and I really like it. I use it both for hand brushing and for airbrushing. I might add a little water when I hand brush it (I will dip the brush in my water and mix it into the paint on my pallette paper). I thin it more when I run it through my airbrush.

life colours and andrea are they good?

I use Vallejo Paints and thin them with Windex Blue. 70% Windex to 30% paint. To the consistancy of watered down milk. :-)

I like Tamiya thinned with alcohol for brush painting. It does take a bit of work to get used to though.

I like polly scale paints.

You can use the railroad colors too!! Big bottles, and cheaper.

I use different shades of grey, green and OD to get different field grey colors on my figures.

Tamiya paints are not good for brush painting in my experience.

I find that you can do a lot with cheapo craft paints too. My Grenadier Guards sargeant in the Gallery is painted entirely with paint from those 50 cent craft paints. I found a primer was essential with the cheapo paints. I use PollyScale Primer Grey.
