I am wondering what size Heki grass mats evryone is using 3mm, 5mm or 8mm
It will be for 1/35 and 54mm scale

Depends really on what you are potraying, but ususally for me 5 and 8mm.

Jackhammer81 and I use the 5mm with very good results, but as Sticky has stated..it depends really on what you are trying to portray.

For the project I am working on now it can be short grass not to long,
I guess another question would be can the 8mm grass be cut down or will it look funny?

I asked about Heki and got these measurements a while back:

2mm=2 3/4" high
3mm=4 1/8"
4mm=5 1/2"
5mm=6 7/8"
8mm=11"

1) What's the longest that is available?

2) I want to use it for my Kursk panther, so which type/color etc. would ya'll suggest?
