I read that Tamiya was suppose to be coming out with the latest edition of the Le Clerc. So far I haven't seen or heard of anything coming of it. Anyone else heard of a possible delivery date.

Thanks

hello GSPatton,

I'm sure you are going to edit your post so this international forum stays friendly and homely to everyone !

And from what I've read everywhere, there are many people happy with the release of a modern MBT !

Haven't heard much on this one yet, although I don't do modern, it will be interesting to see if they take the Dragon approach to their kits of late...dio in a box anyone?

Been out a few weeks now in Europe. Was first shown at the Shizouka Hobby Show in Japan. Here is a whole thread on it over at M-L. Tamiya Leclerc

I personally have no desire to build it, but it seems pretty nice. It does not have all the extras that the new DML kits have, but is way more expensive, in classic Tamiya style.

I just wondering mind you - not really sure why Tamiya would want to produce a model of a tank with one forward and 19 reverse gears and which emits a white flag upon the sounds of gun fire?

Thanks

Guess what ? I think we've got another Mr Wise Guy around here !
Maybe there's an audience for lousy jokes and stale humor.....but not on Armorama ! (at least I hope so )

Frenchy

FYI Frank, it's Leclerc, not Le Clerc....

Pen Pen and Frenchy,
GS Patton was mearely making a joke. Just laugh about it and come back with something witty about Americans or American equipment, like...
The Sherman being a Ronson Lighter, hit it once and it lit up like a torch. (Oh well, guess I'n not very witty today.)

Relax. Humor is good. Have a laugh.

By the way, here's another link with a bunch of pics of it from Shizouka show.

I agree Gino, humor is good and I have nothing against a good laugh.....when the joke is good.

That matter is closed for me

Gentlemen-
As an Italian-American I have endured my share of Italian WWII Armor jokes.

I was making, what I thought was a jest about a possible Tamiya offering - The Leclerc -

Obviously, I hit a raw nerve with some of the membership. That was not my intention, it was a joke.
OK, a joke. You know - ha ha.

SORRY.

Actually it is not available anywhere yet. It will be released in Japan in July and the rest of the world will follow. And the model was first shown in some show in France, I don't remember what it was. Shizuoka was after that.

Right now only test shots are avaliable - Marcus Nicholls of TMMI has just received one.

It was shown in the Paris show, in April.

Pawel is correct, the release date is July.
I just talked to Tamiya staff today, and the answer is still "July," with no actual date. Just "July."

Gino, thanks for linking my thread! (I'm J-Hulk over at FSM, for those of you who don't know. Or care).

This new Leclerc is fantastic. The molding is...well, you can read what I had to say about it in the link Gino provided. No sense in repeating myself!

I agree! For those interested, the Tamiya Leclerc is already on sale on eBay Germany.

How is that possible?

It's not even going to be released here in Japan until JULY.
Are people selling reservations for kits on ebay?
Must be, because there are no Tamiya Leclercs available yet.

I'll say this one more time:
THE RELEASE IS JULY 2005 HERE IN JAPAN!!

Got it?

Only as pre-order. To be delivered in late August...
Very clever strategy, indeed.

Brian, I'm sorry, I had to laugh at your (very understandable) response. I recently made a similar answer about the new DML Tiger I (late). The 'net is a great place for information, however like everything else, people see what they want to see.....Jim :-)
