Perth modeling has a review on it.
http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/trumpeter/tr00350.htm

Okay, let me have my one rant today. Not only is it one ugly puppy, but they only made TWO OF THEM!!! Allied buyers are crying for a new halftrack that they made tens of thousands of, and there'll make German stuff that only had two actual vehicles made? Oh the injustice of it all.

Of course I'm sure Trumpeter will sell every one they can make, for the reasons Matt mentioned. Maybe that will make them enough money so they can make something in olive drab.

Okay, off the soap box, return to your modeling.

There's an other one to go on the "to do" list.

Sadly, the demand for a new M3, has in many cases become little more than a meaningless bleating from some. (not you Rodger, others, who wouldn't know an M3 if it was to surface in their soup)

Trumpeter should be applauded for doing something whih goes into the category of 'prototypes' - not criticized. Normally vehicles like this are only ever produced by the Resin manufacturers (at premium prices). More unusual vehicles like this please....Jim

Hi, I agree, one ugly looking AFV there, but got to have just one.I hear the after market folks calling on this one for the interior I would think. Like they have done with this company's recent Hotchkiss AFV releases.

We'll also need a turned barrel here too.

Take care, Sgirty

It's a great kit, and an interesting subject. Who cares if only two were made? To me, that fact makes it all the more interesting.

I picked one up last week at the LHS, for about $16 USD. A great kit, at an amazing price. Evidently Trumpeter is selling this kit at a special price to celebrate it as their 350 kit.

Check out the tracks, by the way. Hollow guide horns!

If that's not good enough for you, ModelKasten will be releasing a set of indy links in July.

Jim, I know how much you hate the endless Axis vs Allies debate, so I'll only make this one other comment. If kit makers want unusual, prototype subjects, how about the US half-tracks with the 37mm and twin .50 machine guns? Or the Black Prince, a Churchill with a 17 pounder? For that matter how about a towed 17 pounder?

I know, I know, it will never happen. I'm just a poor Allied modeler, who can't afford, or is too cheap to buy, resin kits or resin conversion sets, and would love to some day be able to do a dio with such items, or a Crusader AA tank, a Scammel (sp) tank recovery vehicle, umpteen dozen or so Allied soft skin vehicles, British armored cards, etc, etc, etc.

I'm really, really, really done for now. At least until the next rant comes along.

Yeah, as I said above, I have the kit, and it looks great. Haven't started building it, so I can't comment on the fit, but the molding is excellent. The armored fighting compartment "box" is molded in one piece.
You only get plastic; that is, no PE or anything else. A well-made, no-frills kit. As I said above, the tracks are very well molded, and even the guide horns are appropriately hollow.
If you're interested in this vehicle, then by all means, you should get this kit, as it's a winner.

Resin, premium prices - I thought you were still refering to all those allied subjects that you mentioned in another thread Jim ! LOL (apart from shermans that is, loads of them around I admit)

Seriously this is an interesting subject, and may well join the two Tigers. one PantherII and one Luchs amongst all the Bronze Green and SCC15 on my shelves. I'd be quite happy to see more of these kind of subjects, of any nationality, so long as they actually existed and are not just 'paper projects'
