Good Review Kevin. I have also used the Heki product in a couple of dioramas and it is indeed a very good product and easy to use. Like Kevin said, you really need to first put down a layer of static grass before adding the matt. I was unable to locate the products locally so i ordered it from Scenic Express in PA.

I was going to ask about Kevin's comment, re: static grass. I've never used any kind of grass product, could you explain a bit about the differnece between this grass and static grass?

Hi Rodger:
The static grass I use is made by Woodland Scenics and comes in different colors. It comes in a large shaker top bottle. The "grass" looks like very small loose, individual blades of grass. I mix several colors to get the look I want and then add it to my base by sprinkling it around on top of diluted white glue. Some people say they are able to get their static grass to stand up and while I do get some vertical blades, I have not been very successful. The Heki grass matts are not individual blades but a matt made from some type of netting. I tear small peices from the larger matt, stretch it out to the size and density that I want then glue it on top of the peviously applied and dry static grass layer. Hope this helps.

Hello everyone. These reviews will be something new I think. We have all been part of the threads about Heki grasses, but I felt it was time to do some things here to show you what it really is, this grass on the invisible netting:). I will be doing an extended review or multiple review as you would say with comparisons to what I feel are the three main manufacturers of tall grass mats. I stated off with the one most people here have heard the most about the Heki wildgrass, This will be followed by products by Silflor and Noch. So we can have a side by side comparison. any comments or questions feel free to ask. Cheers Kevin

Thank you Kevin.
You have posted this review at just the right time for me. I'm just about to build my first diorama for the TD campaign and have had some good advice on building tarmac roads, then you come along with a review on Heki grass. I can not wait for your reviews on the other products which I personly have not heard of, but hey! before I joined the big A I hadn't heard of Heki either.
Once again Thank you
Luciano
