Hi all,
here are some final (brand new) pics of my 1st dio ' The Road To Bastogne' , hope you enjoy them just like the other ones. But first i have to say something about the ardennes battle: In 1st WW, one of the heaviest battle's between the allied and axis forces was the battle near Ieper (belgium) and again in 2nd WW, one of the heaviest and most important battle's was the fight in the Belgium Ardennes near Bastogne this was an important breakthrough for the allied forces. However the allied forces fight many battle's against there strong opponent on many fronts, the ice cold winter in the Ardennes perhaps was much stronger enemy.

Fantastisch diorama.
Fantastic diorama.
I love the action the dio shows very good scene. Having the whole scene in an angle makes it really interesting to look at. And the snow gives exactly the cold atmosphere the battle of the bulge is known off. One thing you could have done is adding some snow to the vehicles. Not the big layer but just the little amounts that fall out of trees when the vehicles would drive past them touching the branches.
Further I can`t say much then that I really like it. I wonder how you have done the water under the bridge as it looks very good.
Great job again

I love the composition. The elevation and the added elevation with the telegraph/phone poles is really nice. Everything is tied together and complements each other very well.
I really like the TC touch, you don't see that kind of thing often. Nice job.
On your next project I would offer that you remember to add vehicle tracks to the ground, they're missing here. In the overhead shot there are no tracks from the sherm. That would carry over to more snow on the tracks of the sherm too.

Thanx for you comments so far boys, about the tree's i can tell you that i get a little help and advice from a good friend of mine ' Paul ' or 007 thats his nick by Armorama he will be coming very soon with an article about making pine trees, the snow is no drugs but grinded plastic which after grinding was sieved for getting out the fine powder.

Awesome dio! I like it very much! There's lots of action and you can really feel the cold of the Ardennes! Brilliant disposition of figures and vehicles, wonderfully built groundwork!
I've got only one remark to do: -The vehicles seem to have been "planted" there! They are not merged with their setting. That is to say, Eric, you should have put some snow on the vehicles and on the wheels and tracks- here along with some mud! Nevertheless the dio is suberb! Congratulations!
Cheers and hppy modelling!
