Hello eveyone, thought id post more pics of my Tiger.
now am not going to touch another kit untill this one is finished :-) .i posted an artical before asking how to make a muzzle brake cover.so most of the day i was thinking of what to use,so in the end i use a piece of thin plastic bag cut to shape and tied with cotton.then i just painted it matt black.i have added some more dry brushing as it did look a little lifeless,so just need to do the tools and such.
cheers

Karl,
Looking excellent!!! You've done a fantastic job of camouflaging. I like the blending of the camouflage colors with the base coat. They don't jump out at you, but are very convincing. You've done a nice job on the muzzle cover as well. Really hoping to be able to do that quality of work sometime. It feels as if I have such a long way to go
Congratulations on building a fine looking kit.

Hey Karl,
very nice looking Tiger, i especially like the exhausts shields and the blending of the camoflage scheme, how did you do that, filters?
Two small observations though, on the second picture from the top you can see the left hand side of the turret stowage box and he paint looks unfaded, are you going to do that later?
The other point is to do with the colour underneath the missing Zimmerit.......i remember reading somewhere that when ZImmerite was dislodged, it usuyally took the layers of paint off as well and the colour left would be the primer colour, usually red oxide.
Other than that you have a very good Tiger on yoiru hands, look forward to the finished model

That's a great looking Tiger Karl. Camo looks fantastic. Muzzle cover looks fine.
What mix, do you use for your wash?

Looking good Karl! I have to admit that I agree with Hawkeye though, where the Zimmerit has been knocked off I don't see how the Camouflage colours would still be seen, and some red oxide would look very effective!

It all depends on when the Tiger was painted. sSS PzAbt 101 did field repaint all of its 'rubber wheel' Tigers at least before going to Normandy. So if any of the Zimm. was missing it would have been possible for the cammo to be on the bare hull.
There are also a number of photos showing sPzAbt 503 repainting its TII's prior to reaching the front so again it is possible.
A nit pick is that this Tiger never saw any action (it was damaged on the way to Normandy by air attack and never repaired) thus it would not have had chunks of the zimm. missing.
