Anyone got a good review on this vehicle? How's the fit and detail on this kit? Which one is better in terms of fit and easeness of build?

Ralph, the Italeri kit has a three piece lower hull. The bottom portion of mine was warped, so I'm sure it will cause some issues when the hull sides and upper hull are joined later. There is no texture to speak of on the lower hull either. The DML kit that I have of the JSU-152 has this detail, along with a lot of other details that are missing from the Italeri kit. Italeri provides you with the 4 piece vinyl tracks that must be joined with a hot knife or heated blade. The DML kit provides individual links. When I build the Italeri kit I will more than likely swap the tracks out for Individual links instead or opt for the Frui metal tracks.
I'm not a bolt counter and it does look like an ISU-152 from in the box. I think with a little attention to detail and patience it would build into a good looking kit. I would reccomend swapping the kit tracks for some aftermarket items though. Hope this helps. "Q"

Remember that th eDML hull is a little too "shallow" and makes the tracks get too close to the upper fenders. Putting a shim all around the DML lower hull fixes this problem. I do not remember off the top of my head what the correct shim size is.

If you can, find an aftermarket barrel. The DML muzzle brake is very fine, and it is a hard seam to sand.Conventional wisdom is that a 2 -3 mm thick shim is best for raising the upper hull from the lower.
