Hi! I've been using Tamiya enamels for quite a time and I'm looking for Russian Armor green color equivalent - like those for the T-34s, ISU-152s and IS tanks.

Any good Tamiya color equivalent?

Ralph,
At that period the Russians had no paint . They usually mixed their yellow and blue paints in the fabrics for painting the armors. So there is not a specific green for these. Any military green can be used..
Cheers

I don't know anything about it being a myth.

But Humbrol #114 is Matt Russian Green.

I used on this one

and this one

It stands out a bit when placed among the other models on the shelf.

Just noticed at my LHS today that MM has a Russian Green, might want to give that a whirl as it is lighter than standard green.

As far as I know the MM Russian Green is supposed to be a color for post war Soviet military vehicles, not WW2 hardware. I don't know how accurate it is, but I remember that Dmitryi Li of ModelPoint US once mentioned that this color is a very good match for the green on the factory new BRDM (or maybe something similar) which the unit he served with was using.

Ola Guys

Let me start of with this:

"russian green" is a myth

This couldn`t be mor etrue especially when we are talking about WW2. The Russians did not really care about the looks of the vehicle more they were interested in it`s Functionality. Reports tell that the Russians even did send factory fresh unpaited vehicles onto the battlefield.
A good replicate dexample of this is "Naked Desperation by Adam Wilder" who made a russian vehicle straight off the assembly lines into the battle field.

As is already said during WW2 the Russians did not really care so they painted with every mean to get it green. Basically any color of green is correct for WW2 Russian Tanks

I have used this and it actually dried pretty dark, I was very pleased with the results.
