I have been doing a sweep of the forums in search of some feedback re Italeri's Sdkfz 232 (6-rad) kit. I have one (the basic kit, without the resin interior) and wondered if anyone else has built it and what their opinions were.

Speaking for myself, parts fit seems quite good excepting the hatches don't fit all that well in the closed position - they may have been thinking towards the interior and all hatches open). Other than that, it should look OK when I get round to completing it.

The only non OOTB work I've done is to put a blanking plate in the turret (Olfa compass cutters - every modeller should get one - & no I don't get comission for writing that) and the driver from a Tamya Panzer IV Ausf D looking out of the top.

I have the kit but have not built it, my friend has, and the only complaints he voiced are the same ones you noticed, the hatches, that they do not fit very well and there is a noticeable gap.. I believe that he scratch built the lower hull hatches. Other than that it is a nice kit.
Regards,
Robert

Hi Rob

I pulled out my kit last night (sounds rude if you read it quick!) and gave it the once over. I managed to get the driver's hatch off and will give it a clean up before putting it back. My main problem was being too hasty in sticking bits together.

Other than that, it looks to be a nice model when it's together (I may have to get another one at some point) and apparently it's due out in 1/72 scale soon.
