I like the 6th take more than the rest of the pics. The one that's not too red.

Did you somehow change th elighting on that one?

Well it was taken real close......somehow that shows the colours a bit better.....

It's always hard to take good pics here....The pics show it very very red...but well....looking at it, it is pretty red in reality as well

Oh Goodness! Your M88 looks good. It must go on a NAM dio.

BTW, are those pastels sealed to the tank or they will rub off? Otherwise, you will need a case to protect your masterpiece.

Hallo Martin,

I'm glad you are enjoying working with the pastels, I do hope you only covered the model.. You have done a superb job on this beast with those pastels, I think you captured the red dust very well. I have to say that the pic's can't do it justice, try to take them against a more neutral background like blue, as that will make live a lot easier for both your camera and the viewers eyes..

And those decals look good, even if you did them to quick..

Cheers

Your best work yet Martin. The weathering is right on. I can even smell the dust and see it sitting in the motor pool. Bravo and three cheers!!

Hey

I gotta buy myself something blue to use as background lol......daylight also still is a problem.

Well if you keep in mind I took the pics at 07:30 I'm still happy with the light etc

Oh and the annoying thing about the decals....I didn't do them too quick, I really took my time for it. What the hell went wrong on them....no idea

@ Dave: thanks....glad you like it so much

I have found that AFV Club decals are very thin and will not adhere very well. They tend to lift up ever so slightly while drying. I have been giving them a clear coat of MM flat or gloss clear within a couple of minutes of applying them. It seals them and will not silver.

Martin,
It looks great despite the problems you had with the decals. So you obviously liked the use of artist chalks, don't you think it gives it a better, more natural look?

It looks fantastic!

Steve

Dave,
I was wondering if you ever had a set decals curdle by doing this?

I tried that once one a semi-gloss finish for the same reasons of silvering prevention, and when the flat hit them..they wrinkled up like prunes. I wasn't sure if there was enough residual solvent on the surface to do that or what...

One time I did have a problem. I found that it was because I tried to put too heavy a coat over the decals. I found that a few very thin coats works the best.

excellent work there mate, well done. you might have used the pastels a little to much but other wise it looks great, well done.

I had to hide those shiny decals .... and I had so much fun in using them lol, I kept going.

But well, on the pics the tank looks a bit more red than in reality.....in real you can actually see some OD paint
