Here we have a Tamiya sd.kfz.222.a very nice kit to put together.
i have given it a wash with windsor+newton burnt umber, next ill give it a drybrush and add some paint chips followed by mig powders.
What would be the best colour for paint chips on panzer grey???
Thanks for looking.
cheers

Looking good Karl! For paint chips I'd go with Nato black. It would look more visualy striking with red oxide chips, but I don't think it would be historically accurate..more like hysterically inaccurate!
Come on then Karl! Back to work...we want to see this when it's finished.

I disagree with Teacher. I think if you use them very sparingly, the red oxide chips can be ok.
Here are some I did on my VK36.01
Before you get too far in the weathing I would paint the canvas cover for the spare, and the exhust pipes and mufflers.
My 2 cents.

Hi Karl,
I am not certain, but is that a moldseam on the canvas cover of the spare wheel, or is it supposed to be there?
(runs back to own in production kit.... bolts to shelves and look in references.... comes back to keyboard)
Judging by the one pic I could find of THAT side of the vehicle, and same type of canvas cover on a Sd.Kfz. 247, I would say it is a moldseam...
For the rest of it, it looks awesome...
Good luck,
Harm

Yep, afraid Harm is right, it's a mould seam alright! Looks like a nice clean build otherwise, this is one of my fave vehicles BTW. I think also, since this is Rivet Review, that exhaust needs to be nice & rusty too! Also the end blobs on the width indicators could be white. Hpoe not too nit-picky!

Karl,a very nice job. Here is my nit pick,if you put in chips showing oxide primer,or whatever, look at the left side of the turret. The area above the cross, looks like a sprue detachpoint.Turn that into a chipped area and that will be fine.

Karl,
I would personally like to see you continue with more dust all over the model. It looks to dark and lifeless to me. I see were you have some dust kicked up around the underside of the hull - it looks good. If you hadn't already gone so far I would also suggest replacing the the gas cans with some that are more accurate (3 handles not one big one), but they're already on.
