What is the best material for creating tents out of? I'm experimenting with a little dio and I'd like a tent/lean-to in it if possible. Btw, it's 1/35 scale.
Thanks in advance.

I've used both lead foil and paper soaked in white glue and water. Both seem to work pretty well for me.

Well I have something which for me always have worked. I use this transparent kitchenfoil that is used to seal all things like Leftovers and such. It takes some care when using it as the stuff is static as hell and easily sticks at each other but once in place and painted it actually really looks like tentmaterial. I sometimes use it as tentrolls too.
Not really a tent but I have some pics of where I used the foil on a vehicle:
I hope you get the idea.

Dave:
Well Jerry beat me to it, which is just fine. I agree that either foil or facial tissue both work. I kinda prefer the foil because I have this weird penchant for wanting to paint folds in material like tents, bed rolls, pack, sleevers, trousers, etc. Fig painters can groove on this, you know. I wax poetic working the deep shadows in the bottom of the fold and the bright highlights on the top of the fold. I feel that if I use foil I have more control, since it isn't wet when I'm forming the folds as it would be with water/white glue mix and facial tissue. I think it is easier to get the fold to move just where I want it to go. I found I can use Super glue to glue pieces of foil together, also as if you want to make a hat or a bag, etd. If I mess up, I can press it all flat again and start over. But I know that tissue will work also, as I use to use it exclusively before the foil idea. Good luck,
