I finished my kit last night, but it needed some sort of base so i put together this small dio.The figure that comes with the kit is so bad i had to bin it, so i used a more detailed figure.
The 222 is from Tamiya, figure from Tamiya and the little birdie is also from Tamiya :-) :-) .the tree i made myself and the hedges are foliage clusters from woodland scenics.I painted the kit with Acrylics and drybrushed with enamels, finished with some mig powders.
Thats it, thanks for looking.
cheers karl

karl,
I like the main battle tanks myself, but must admit you've done an outstanding job on that kit. The grass looks so real. That's not to take away from the job on the kit. If that's something you "put together" (the dio), it looks just great.
Congratulations on the results you've achieved.

Karl, brilliant job you've done on this, considering the base kit you started with, absolutely brilliant. Love the base as well. Not nit picking, but as somebody mentioned earlier, I wish you'd changed those Jerry cans! If you haven't got any others then fair enough, but in future, if you need anything let me know and I'll drop it over mate.

That is a tight little diorama you have there. I esp like the bird. I do have one minor question or suggestion. I think the crew figure you used is an SS guy and you have Heer plates on the armored car. I could be totally wrong. I realize it is really a nit pick...

Cheers Karl!
Well, what can I say?!
The model looks just fantastic and the base as well!
I like the bird idea very much... it gives the dio some kind of softness which is a bit hard for me to explain...
It's just unique and so different!
But there is just one thing that a bit bothers me:
As I said, the model looks great and so does the base but it looks a bit as if the vehicle had just "fallen" in place, and there it stays.
There's the car, there's the grass, but it seems that there is no connection between them...
I think some grass attached to the sides and wheels, or maybe just a trace of it on the car would be great.
That is just a suggestion.
Great job indeed!

That is one of the nicest little dios I have seen in some time. Congrats on a great build.

good job there karl. apart from the vehicle, the attention is drawn to the crewman and the bird, which IMO is the focus point of your work.... and that should make an interesting title for the dio! so, any title yet?

Great job karl...I've just finished the same kit myself (DAK) and I must say, I'm much impressed with yours and the dio. Good call on the figure...I almost laughed out loud when I saw the one Tamiya was nice enough to include :-)

Karl,
great job. Also interested in how you got the grass looking so realistic. I imagine it is the wild grass from Heiki (sp).
Cheers
