Hi guys

This past Friday I got the June issue of the Squadron supplement. In it they have the reissue of Airfix's 1/32 scale multi-pose figures. My question is {and I'm sorry if its a stupid question} Whats the difference in size between 1/32nd, and 1/35th scale ? Are they close enough in size that 1/32nd figures could be used with 1/35th scale vehicles ?

Thanks in advance

Ola Harry

well the size difference of figures between 1:35 and 1:32 is something that is discussed over and over and I believe the size difference of a figure in both scales comes down on around 2 CM... It is calculated once. Well look around you you see people of all different sizes which is absolutely normal. One thing you should take in mind is that all the equipment the guys are wearing is the same scale. There are no M1 carbine XL at the Quartermasters depot. So as long as you use Equipment from the same scale 1:32 and 1:35 are perfectly compatible with each other

Hi Harry, I agree with Faust,
but you also must remember that different makers of 1/35 figs. and 1/32 - 54mm figs. have thier own representation of the respective scale.
I have figs. by just about every manufacture and right now i can place a Dragon fig. next to a resin Jaguar, Verlinden or Warrior fig. and some of the resins look like Andre the Giant placed next to the Dragon.
I even have different Dragon figs. that don't look right next to one another, from very early issues to present.
Lets not even mention early 1/35th Tamiakins.
Basically its just a matter of side by siding them and seeing what looks right.

Hi Harry:

Well of course, Robert and Cheyenne covered your question quite well. And my reply will more of less be a lot like Cheyenne — when he mentioned comparing each fig side by side. I change lower arms and hands from one fig to another quite a bit and also usually put a different head on the fig than the one originally a part of the fig; especially with Tamiya figs. I put Ultra cast heads or Hornet heads on those older Tamiya figs (with the mold seam right thru the ears) What I try to be careful with is making sure the heads in a group, are all about the same size when I mix and match . True, some people have larger heads than others, but it seems for 1:35th the proportions look better, IMO if I get the heads right. I've bought resin heads that were 1:32nd (54mm) and resin heads in 1:35th scale. Sometimes the 1:32nd heads are smaller than some of my 1:35th heads. So it can be a sticky wicket, you might say.
