Ola People

Well I have been working on another piece of furniture. Danny (Eagle) asked me if I could make a lounge chair for his upcoming project so basically this is my first commision piece

Well a lounge chair I thought and I really did not have an idea of what it did look like So I googled a bit around on the topic of Lounge chair and it gave me the inspiration and the knowledge of how a thing like that looked like.
So I started building. The Complete backpart of the chair is as you can see made out of one piece cut out and bend over a little candle flame.
Further I basically did this without any form of drawing I just started to built a thing that looked like a lounge chair with a figure next to it for measurement. It is not finished yet. I have to scratchbuilt the seat cushions and some more details and it is ready for painting.
here are the pics

Looking at the next pic the chair seems a bit on the small side

But when I place another (shoddy, badly painted incomplete from years ago) DML figure from the scratchbox in it..............

Last pic with another piece of furniture I made

More progress will follow Let me know what you guys think of it. Any feedback is welcome

The architecture for the legs is awesome. Great details. To solve your "looking short" issue. If the chair is next to the standing soldier and remains emply you can add a cushion and it will make the seat taller.

Speaking of cushions, it would be a great detail in you can add a cushion being squashed by the weigh of the seated soldier. It will also seem less stiff and blend the butt better into the seat.

Hi Robert, the scale is fine.
Excellent - build from the brain, I always keep a few figs, around also to make sure my scratch stuff looks ok.
The legs are great, come on cough it up how did you make them ? Also how about painting a paisley pattern on the fabric. - Cheyenne

Ola Guys

Thanks for the compliments and the feedback. I personally don`t think it is too small but in some angles it appears to be.

Alan. There will be the seatcushions of the chair itself and maybe if Danny keeps the seat empty I could scratch an Additional cushion for on the seat. I actually really like that suggestion.

About the legs. It is not as hard as it looks. Basically it is a Little strip of quite thick evergreen about 1,4 mm by 5 mm Sanded it so that it was thinner in the middle. Then again hold it between tweezers in a candleflame and when the styrene began to bend due to the heat I took it away from the flame and did bend it in the shape I wanted. I basically put my finger on the lower part and then did bend it in an "S" shape. The nice woodcut just under the seat section was at first an effect of the bending and melting but I made it appear stronger by sanding it with an Elips shaped file.

About the color Danny wanted a warm dark mahogany wood and an Old green fabric. As you already suggested Cheyenne about the pattern I already discussed with eagle and he gave me the free way of adding a little pattern to it. No screaming stuff just a subtle pattern in a lighter tone of green then the chair.

Thanks guys for the feedback and the replies. If anybody spots something that isn`t correct or have additions to it please let me know. I`m more then willing to answer any question and good suggestions will be taken in Consideration.

Ola Guys

Thanks for the comments. You haven`t got a clue what a boost that is to making more furniture and god knows I need it with a 4 story appartment building to fill.

Hilbert. Believe me with a little imagination and some experimenting there is nothing you can`t do with evergreen

More furniture to come in the meanwhile if you spotted something that is not correct needs a change or you just have an idea that might work well with the chair. Please tell me
