SWEET!!! Where is the turret from? Kit, Resin, Scratch? How did you make the ground and from what material? Looks great!!

A lesson can be learned here.... Whenever you build something, be sure to make some good quality pictures and just submit them to our support center. It's such a shame that a lot of good models of all kinds don't see the light of day of the larger community, because of fear.

What's the worst thing that can happen when you publish your work......? I'll thell you :

The worst thing that can happen is that you get free advice on how to improve your modeling.... But most of the time all the replies are a big stimulation to go on.

I'm glad someone talked you into submitting your pitures... this is a cool diorama that deserves a spot on our site !

Don,you are very welcome. I have been following your dios since I joined up here. I wish you would post more of your work. I believe you deserve a feature like they did with Russ Sharp. On that point, Danny please have a look thru Don's gallery... its full of gold. Cheers Kevin

that was an excellent advice ! I followed your advice and browsed though that gallery, but what I saw wasn't gold......it looked more like platinum to me.

There are some excellent dioramas in there...even pictures that would look good in building instructions too !!

I would be remiss if I didn't thank Dave O'meara(Grumpyoldman) for helping get the photos together for the feature. Hi Don. Great Dio. When you build your figures are they converted? Do you model the hands yourself :like the guys dragging the camo netting?

Do you have a favourite company for figures?

I really liked the dio idea, it is something we don't see enough of, everday "grunt" work!

We forget that in alot of cases the "down" time is spent doing this "drudgery" but they had to do it to hide from those darn "Jabos"!

Hi Michael, thanks for the kind words. I usually use the figures as is and add warriors or some other resin heads. I have a very large collection of figures resin and plastic and can usually find a figure to fit the situation. In this case the 3 guys doing the work are from the fairly new Trumpeter Artillery crew sets with new heads. The NCO in charge comes from a Preiser set. My figures I think are my weakest point of my work so I try to get the best I can for the dio. I feel I can make a bad AFV kit look good, unfortunately I can also make a fantastic figure look good. Overall for the money you can't beat dragon for plastic and warriors and jaguar for resin figures.

Panzercmdr: the FT17 turret is plastic from an old kit and the gound work is celluclay,static grass and pastels.
