You guys are going to kill me, I just won this kit at my IPMS raffle ($1). Anyone build it yet? Looks to be the "limited" set which includes a resin Cullin Hedgerow cutter (sticker says limited to 6,000). Nice kit includes an aluminum barrel, redesigned turret and detailed interior.

Had a choice between many flying thingies, cars, floatie thingies, an Alan Pz III Ausf. C, DML Firefly, new Tamiya M4A3 (I told a young modeler who also won a pick to take it, it was the easiest kit up there), Skybow 3/4 ton Carrier and several others. I snatched the AFV right away. My luck's holding up! :-)

Congrats Rob! I've finished the AFV Club M10 - it is the same kit as you have, with some minor detailing differences for the British variant. All-in-all, a very nice kit. Captures the look and feel of the M10 better than the Academy release - side-by-side, the Academy kit is noticably smaller than the AFV Club kit - a flip-flop of the comparison between their M18 Hell Cat kits.

I have the Academy M-18, I got a good deal from someone on RMS, I believe. The M-10 looks nice, did you get the AFV PE for it? Aluminum barrel is a plus, especially since it comes with spring for recoil action. Comes with 6 decal options, 5 US, 1 GB, of course since it comes with a hedgerow cutter, I'll do it in Normandy era/unit markings. There's also an optional armored cover for the turret, anyone know when this came into use on the M10?

Yes, I used the AFV Club PE on this kit. It was the only detail set I bought for it. The armored cover was a field expedient added late in the war. It wasn't a factory produced item. The AFV Club part looks like the field modification introduced by the 7th US Army's 536th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Company in early 1945. There's a picture of it in Squadron Signals' US Tank Destroyers in Action on page 14.
