I tried to find some info on the forums, but does anyone have a suggestion on who makes a better Brummbar? I know that Tamiya and Dragon both make the kit, and probably both good kits. Dragon does have the seperate links, which may be a good thing. Any suggestions on which of the two is better?

Hey, If I remember right (Agedoes that) the DMl is a later model with the hull mounted MG, while th Tamiya is an early model without the self defence MG.
DML kit is also alot newer moldings....both if you choose to should probably have zimmeritt added too.
MHO I'd get the DML one

If I remember right, Tamiya make the early version, without the square deal on the front glasis and DML makes the late version. In any case, the Tamiya kit is ancient. It has the open sponsons and the motorization holes in the lower hull.
I would recommend the DML kit.

I have built the DML kit and it is much bettet than the Tamiya one and even if you want to build an early Brumbar i would suggest you get the DML one and use a conversion kit.
The Tamiya kit is from the early 80's i think and is not that accurate although iut can be improved with PE etc etc.

I am actually finishing the Tamiya one now and everything the other posters say is true. I built it as a cheap "learner" to get into doing home made zimmerit. It is turning out not bad. I went with the kit tracks rather than spend more money than the kit cost on replacements but I did add some PE skirts to it. You would have to close in the sponsons, close up the holes on the lower hull but otherwise it builds well and the fit is good. I got mine for 15 bucks where as the DML one is 30 so as I said it was a good low pressure project to try and do some zimmerit not to mention the big flat sides made that process easier too. Another interesting ommision in the Tamiya one is the drivers periscope guard is there and the opening is there but there is no periscope provided. I substituted a small block.
I will try and post a picture or two soon.

I ordered the DML kit a couple of hours ago. I will plan to add zimmeritt to the model as well. At first I didn't like the way zimmeritt looked, but it has grown on me, mainly because I want to be somewhat accurate when I build the Brummbar. Thanks for all the info. If you have more tips on the Brummbar, feel free to let me know. The more the better.
