Ummm..I'm sure this has been discussed and I'm just not finding the thread...but, what happened to the awards that went next to everyone's names in the threads? I noticed they appear in the profiles, but not in the threads..

If this was a stupid question to ask...you can yell at me...I'm half asleep anyway.

I do remember seeing them them there when I first joined the site. I didn't have any ribbons for awhile but now I have a couple, but you don't see them any more. good question.

I believe it was decided if one couldn't show all the ribbons, an impossiblity due to space and download speed limitations, that none would be shown. If you want to see the ribbons you'll have to go to the profile page.

The only ribbon that shows now is the moderator ribbon, but that doesn't even show in all the forums I moderate. Don't know why not.

I recall that discussion now. Too bad, (really....I'm bumed about it.) I was hoping that at least I would have one ribbon show up with my thread posts. I thought it was a cool idea. The DDD had a cool ribbon.

But, if it became an issue of space and site speed, I understand.

Actually it was more a performance issue. Basically if you had your settings displaying 20 posts per page it was 20 extra MySQL queries per page.

But I have a plan to re-institute them at some point by allowing people with awards to select the award they want displayed. This award id number will be saved in the main users table and thus won't requre a seperate database query.
