Type 1 75mm SPG Ho-Ni. I guess it was only utilized in the Philippines and not many at that. Mostly in falling back to the highlands against persistent American advance.
I'm not really good at making dios. I don't know what else to add. There aren't that much Japanese stuff in the market as far as I know.
The tank crew are kit bashed. Switching lower protions of the body with the infantry set of Tamiya. The one standing is actually the driver of the other Japanese tank the Type 97 Chi-Ha.

Hi Mondo, I really like your dio. Your right Japanese AFV and figures are few and far between. Seems strange when so many of the kits come from Japan. I have one little suggestion. The self-propelled gun looks nice and dusty and the beach area looks shiney and wet. This seems to be a little contadiction. Maybe you could make the lower part of the gun look a little wet or make the beach look a little dusty to match the vehicle. Just an observation, overall I think its a great little dio. Tell me how you made that flag, it looks great.

I think i would add a lot more leaves and fallen foliage. Also Jap gun crews were know to put tarps or layers of palm leaves under their guns to keep the dust down when firing.

I really like your dio; very nice composition and a theater of operation that we don't see here on the Big A that much. I presume you're going to put nice wood sides around the rectangle to cove up the edges? That would be a classy touch to a very nice dio. The only other suggestion I would make is minor and one of personal opinion in my case. Others may differ about this point. To me in 1:35th scale, black is too dark a color to use for eyes. IMO, the eyes jump out at the viewer too much when they are black, in this scale. (Yes, I understand that some races have eyes that are black. But IMO, in this scale black is too dark) I would suggest a gray or perhaps a brown that isn't a real deep tone.
Fine job of converting those figs too.

Good work. Always nice to see fig's and vehicles that aren't German or US.
I believe that Dragon once made a set of japanese figs, and Airfix just reissued their multipose Japanese as well. So there are some alternatives to Tamiyas set.
Good job, and happy modelling

he mondo,
this looks realy nice but I would change something the guys on the beach are protect themself for gething shot but the guy on the self propelled gun is standing and not protecting himself so he can be shot any moment and thats a little weird.
Sorry for the bad english but this was the best way to explain it.
Grtz Rob!

Thnaks for the comments y'all. I got a new idea from them and will try to re-work it.
Apli makes t-shirt transfers. You print them and iron them on. I was wearing a particular old and thin cotton shirt and remembered I prined a Japanese flag once.
I think a piece of silk would be better than cotton.

Nice stuff there Mondo. It is refreshing to see some rarer scenes for a change.
