This is the 1/35 scale Unimog Lkw 2t military truck by Revell of Germany. I was wondering if there is any photo etched sets in particular. I already checked the Eduard site and did not see any listing for Unimog. Did anyone else do a set?

Thanks, was thinking more along the lines of PE than tires or a conversion. I plan on using it to tow a Bundeswehr M101 howitzer.

Well, like it states in the first post, it is 1/35 scale regular 2 ton cargo truck, kit #03020. They also make several versions of the civilian Unimog in 1/24 scale. A fire truck and snow plow spring to mind.

Not sure if the kits are in or out of production.

It's a beauty of a kit, too. They tend to be on LHS shelves, as they don't move as fast (being less-familiar to US hobbyists). But I really recommend the kit.

the U1300 entered service in 1978. At this time the M101 was out of service with the Bundeswehr as i know. The Unimog from Revell is out of production. PE-sets are not available. But you should use the MR-tires, if you can have a look in the box prior buying, because the quality varies from good to poor. The tires provided with the kit will crack when the softener is gone.

happy modelling

Nope, that is not quite true. Bundeswehr modernized some of their M101 to Feldhaubitze (L) 105mm (FH-105) standard as portrayed by Revell kit (although not accurately). These upgraded howitzers were still in use in 1990s. But I'm not sure if they were towed by Unimogs - standard prime mover for them was MAN 7t truck (Lkw 7t milgl):

Also check photos of FH-105 used by Bundeswehr mountain artillery unit in 1996: http://www.gebirgsjaeger.4mg.com/2gebirgsartillerie.htm
