Hey All,
Stopped by my local hobby shop (Colpar Hobbies) when I got back in town, and ' lo and behold' they have six (6) of the DUKW's sitting on the new release shelf!!
Needless to say, I tucked one under my arm (along with a copy of 'U.S. Tank Battles, in Germany 1944-45' by the master himself, Steve J. Zaloga).
The kit is just dandy (brain gears are working overtime to come up with a good dio idea).
Haven't built it yet but it looks like it shouldn't be too much trouble at all.
On the other hand, the Zaloga book is exquisite! I have been looking for some source material that would be inspirational for a good U.S. Allied armour build-up, and hit the jackpot with Mr. Zaloga's new addition to the 'Armor at War Series'!!
Believe me, pick up a copy and just TRY to call me 'full of beans'... ;-)
Tread.
BTW.....you Shermanaholics........you'll just drool over this one. I'm not a Shermanaholic, and I found myself considering paying for a proper membership card!

Jeff--for some guy who had a bad time, he sure built a superb model/dio. Wish I had weeks like that. Well, I do have weeks like that, unfortunately, I am not as creative.

Jeff
The guy did a great job on the DUKW. Mine is pre-ordered from MissionModels.com so I'm hoping to have it by this weekend. Then just a few short months sitting in my stash....

I'm with Tread on this one too (welcome back Tread!) I was pleasantly suprised when I opened my Italeri DUKW box too. It looks like it'll be a quick and fun build! That's worth the price of admission. It's positively huge too - makes my M45 Pershing look small sitting them side-by-side...

I agree, great looking model. But what is the setting with the Germans walking by a pristine vehicle. I don't think any operating DUKWs were abandoned at Normandy. I may be wrong.
