Here are some pics of my Ferdinand-dio in 1/72.
It's the Trumpeter kit, built our of the box (it came with etched engine-grids anyway)
The only added part is the antenna which is made from steel wire.
The groundwork is done with Woodland-Scenics products and Heki grass.

Gnaaaarrr! while looking at the photo I realised it has lost some track links!!!
Please excuse that!
Thanks for your remarks and oppinions,

I love this photo, it would be great with a background to look like sunrise/sunset.
Very nice! I like it!

Here my Version with the background:
I don't think I'll add any figures since I'm not very experienced at painting them, and I don't want to make the dio worse with poorly painted figures...

Hi Ekke,
Your forgot to put track marks the ground where the ferdinand supposedly passed. Overall it looks great...I like the grass too.
Cheers

Hey
Nice little dio! Enough variation in the groundwork not to make it "boring" which can be a hard thing to achieve on small bases like this one!
Great work!

Thanks for all the kind words!
Yeah now that warthog mentioned it: I really forgot to make some track marks in the ground...
Sadly I don't know where you can buy the Heki grass in the US, but it's not their new Wildgrass
(Review: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/885 )
but normal grassfibres (No. 3367). They model "knee-long" grass for 1/72 and I planted them bush after bush (quite a lot of work, but for such a small dio it's worth the effort)
Oh and thank you, Mary, for the black/white version of the photo, especially the 2nd one looks very nice!
Best Wishes,
ekke
