Has anybody seen this? Read it? I just picked it up at lunchtime today. It is the story of Charilie Co, 1-64 Armor, 3rd ID in OIF1. Written by the Co commander I believe, and an embedded journalist. I can't wait to dig into it. Wondering if anybody else has.

I started reading it a little. There is a complete roster of Charlie Co in the back of the book, including tank names. Anybody inspired by reading the book will have to look no further than the Echelon decal sheet that includes part of Charlie Co. It is 3rd ID part 3, T35015.

Picked it up over the weekend, started it (still have a couple of other books in progress). Very good so far...seems like an honest, No BS book, the author addresses discipline and drug issues upon taking over command of C Co. so it doesn't seem like a "cheerleader" kind of book.

Mainly this book goes hand in hand with Thunder Run. The unit make-up charts in the back are very valuable.
Its contributions is as an expansion of Thunder Run and Charlie's Company (2nd Brigade)'s contribution to the "Runs" (bad pun) and it contribution to the 2nd Brigade throughout the war. For me, the biggest benefit of this book is easily the photos it provides. It is also notable for being one of the few if not the only book on US conflicts in at least the past ten years written for the general public with small unit armored combat (in this case a tank company) in mind written by a small unit armor commander.
However, in my opinion, Its biggest downside is that, while very informative, it tends to flow at times like the stereotypical autobiography, only in this case, Charlie Company takes the place of the author. But its benefits outweigh its deficits.
