Tank for the review. Are you saying the Heki is shorter than advertised like the Silflor, or is it just the Silflor that is vertically challanged?

Hi Everyone. John, the Silflor and the Heki both appear shorter than you are lead to believe. They appear to be minutely shorter than advertised to me. I think if you measured a single blade of the grass you would come out at 8MM for both of them. But what both these products do is make the grass layover a little as taller grasses would do in nature. To me it looks to average about 6.5MM to 7MM in height. Not a bad thing at all. Next will be some Noch grass then a comparison of the three. Cheers Kevin

Nice review. I like the comparison idea !
This looks to be a cool material to work with....except for the price that is. I must admit that I had to take a deep breath when I first saw that pricetag.
But I guess if it's good stuff it's worth it.

Danny, these products are excellent, and well worth the asking price. You really do get your moneys worth with these grasses. Looking at the size of the mats, you would think that you would not get many uses from one section, when in fact, when applied correctly, it stretches very nicely.

Danny, I admit I was taken aback by the price of the Silflor. It is around three times the price of the Heki grass. High Price, but stop and look at what you get for a minute. On one hand you get a peice of grass that is
28cm X 14cm for around 9USD or you can get a piece of grass that is 30.5cm X 48cm at around 27.50usd. So for the money you get a definite more bang for the buck value wise with the Silflor. Cheers Kevin

Where does one get this type of grass? Is there a certain color you like that seems best?

Alan, all the grasses I will be reviewing in this "Grass Wars" come from
www.scenicexpress.com
As for color, Just look at their charts and pick one for the time of season you want to portrait, and you can fine tune it to the type of grass you want. Hope this helps. Cheers Kevin
